Paul Rudd Offers On-Brand Clapback After 'New York Post' Says He Didn't Deserve 'Sexiest Man Alive' Title

Paul Rudd Offers On-Brand Clapback After 'New York Post' Says He Didn't Deserve 'Sexiest Man Alive' Title

Paul Rudd may not have been expecting to be crowned the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine, but he's been pretty happy with it. He's joked about the honor, and even went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about it.

However, they also talked about a particular opinion from the New York Post.

Writing an opinion piece for the Rupert Murdock owned tabloid The Post, Nicki Gostin argues Paul Rudd is wonderful, but not "sexy." Gostin argues there's more to being sexy than just physical attractiveness.

You've got to be a little of a bad boy.

Rudd, who's 53 years old, and happily married for nearly 20 years, might be seen as more a of cool dad vibe, than sexiest man alive. Yet his seemingly eternal youth and positive energy really does it for a lot of people.

Gostin just doesn't think he's sexy.

And readers think that's ludicrous.

Rudd has been making the rounds, promoting his new projects, the movie Ghostbusters Afterlife, and the series The Shrink Next Door. On The Late Show, he of course talked about these roles, but also had time to discuss the honor from People and insult from NY Post.

It was here, Rudd gave the biggest backhanded compliment when asked about the Post's claim he doesn't deserve 'Sexiest Man Alive.'

Rudd responded,

"Hey, that might be the first thing I ever read in The New York Post that I agree with. That's not fake news."

Don't worry Paul.

We still think you're sexy.

Fellow 'Sexiest Man Alive' recipient and friend of Rudd, Ryan Reynolds had some choice advice for the newest winner. He recommended not wasting it on a false humility.

Reynolds joked Rudd should "run like the wind."
