Oprah spoke out to say she was 'comforted' by Barrymore holding her hand and stroking her arm on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' after fans accused Barrymore of invading Oprah's personal space.

After people on social media criticized Drew Barrymore for holding Oprah Winfrey's hand and stroking her arm on a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the media mogul spoke out.

Winfrey told TMZ that she was actually "comforted" by the host's gestures.

Videos of Tuesday's episode made the rounds on social media showing Barrymore being touchy-feely while speaking with Winfrey about studio audience interactions.

Several people thought Winfrey was uncomfortable and was attempting to free her hand from Barrymore's.

While the interwebs were quick to jump to conclusions, Winfrey herself said she was "not uncomfortable at all."

In fact, she told TMZ:

“I was actually comforted by the stroking of the arm."

She did admit she had “never seen [Barrymore] do that," but nevertheless, Winfrey “thought it was really great.”

“Drew is terrific, and I love that she is always herself.”
