Marvel released a poster for Avengers: Endgame, the follow-on toAvengers: Infinity War, yesterday and it came with a particularly problematic omission.
Fans were quick to point out that Danai Gurira was the only actor appearing on the poster whose name was not included in the top billing.
Gurira, who portrays Okoye in the MCU, was the only one of the thirteen actors appearing on the poster to be omitted from the top billing. Billing is usually something negotiated ahead of time by an actor's agent, but it still seemed odd that she was the only one not named.
People noted that if they could make room for 12 names, they could almost as easily make room for a 13th.
Fans wasted no time in calling Marvel out about the omission, questioning what the reasoning was.
Some assumed it was human error that led to the exclusion.
Others were less shocked and more jaded.
Marvel has since re-released the poster, this time with Gurira's name included.
Whatever the original reason for Gurira not being included, it is good that Marvel were quick to fix the error.
The company was willing to listen to its fans and not afraid to admit when it was wrong.
