JK Rowling Slammed After Claiming That 'There Are No Trans Kids' In Hateful Rant
Jan 06, 2025
Famed Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was criticized after she took to X to claim that "there are no trans kids" before blaming the adults in their lives.
Rowling has repeatedly come under fire for her anti-transgender views and their inclusion in her writing. Her responses to proposed changes to gender recognition laws in the United Kingdom have also drawn public backlash.
And she's at it again, this time denying the existence of transgender children in a viral post:
"There are no trans kids. No child is 'born in the wrong body'. There are only adults like you, prepared to sacrifice the health of minors to bolster your belief in an ideology that will end up wreaking more harm than lobotomies and false memory syndrome combined."
You can see her post below.
Rowling is wrong.
For instance, the number of children in the United States openly identifying as a gender different from the one assigned at birth has grown significantly, reflecting increased recognition of transgender identities and rights, despite ongoing prejudice and discrimination.
With this rise, access to gender-affirming care has expanded, including services offered at numerous clinics within major hospitals.
An analysis of government health surveys from 2017 to 2020 found that 1.4% of 13- to 17-year-olds and 1.3% of 18- to 24-year-olds identified as transgender, compared to about 0.5% of adults overall. These numbers represent a notable increase from previous reports, though the methodologies used differed.
Experts attribute this trend to greater social acceptance and the availability of terminology enabling younger generations to explore and express their gender identities, whereas older adults may face more societal constraints.
Rowling was harshly criticized as a result.
When JK Rowling states that: "There are no trans kids!" she might mean it in regards to the UK in the same manner as Ramzan Kadyrov the Chechen leader or those in similiar countries said, since they had systematcally hunted queer people out of existence in their respective places.

Yeah. All those cultures with names for non binary genders, and historical records of people living trans lives don't mean anything. Her ability to look around London and turn what she saw into a successful series of books makes her an expert on biology and psychology.

Ugh, no trans kids?! I was a trans kid once. I just didn’t have the term nonbinary yet. Sad that trans people were born into the wrong kind of human society where rich people can just dehumanize entire groups of people for just trying to exist as the most authentic version of themselves.

Seems JK Rowling claims there are ‘no trans kids’, she has too because the alternative means admitting you are an over privileged bigot, so she erases the very kids she is bullying from her consciousness. Similar to Brexit voters, they suffer with cognitive dissonance.
— Marianne Oakes (@oakesmarianne.bsky.social) December 31, 2024 at 3:00 AM
Over the last few years, Rowling has argued against the inclusion of transgender women in women's restrooms and promoted stereotypes about transgender people, as when she included a cross-dressing killer inTroubled Blood, written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, a tribute to a man long considered the father of conversion therapy.
Rowling has said she'd "happily" go to prison over her anti-trans views, previously declaring that she'd "happily do two years [in prison] if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex."

Tom Holland Hilariously Reveals How He Broke Up A Fight At A Whole Foods In L.A.
Jan 06, 2025
Ever since he almost literally swung onto the scene at the age of 20 as the iconic Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland instantly became one of the world's favorite superheroes.
He further established himself after headlining three Spider-Man films of his own: 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he memorably shared the screen with Hollywood's two previous "Spidey"s, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
However, Holland's heroic actions may not be reserved for the big screen, after he reportedly used his "spidey sense" to break up a fight at a Los Angeles area Whole Foods supermarket.
As part of his cover interview for Men's Health's January/February 2025 issue, Holland shared that during what started as a routine grocery run, the young actor witnessed the beginning of an apparent brawl between two unidentified men:
"They’re like going at it, right behind me."
Holland would eventually step in, grabbing one of the two assailants by the arm and leading him away from the fight.
While Holland was unsure of how the man would react, it didn't take long for him to realize who pulled him away.
"I can see that he’s recognized me immediately, and you could see the wheels turning, like, I’m really angry, but 'Spider-Man' is telling me to calm down.”
“So, yeah, I go to the supermarket."
As news of the story broke, people shared their amusement on X (formerly known as Twitter), applauding Holland for both his on and off-screen heroics, with many imagining how they would react had they witnessed this situation:
Holland's real-life heroics come during a notable year-long hiatus from acting, but those who have missed his celluloid web-slinging needn't fear.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Holland let it slip to host Jimmy Fallon that he will once again be donning the Spidey suit for his fourth stand-alone Spider-Man film:
"It's happening."
"Next summer, we start shooting, everything's good to go."
"We're nearly there."
This will mark Holland's sixth time portraying Marvel's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man on the big screen.
In addition to the aforementioned films, Holland joined his many distinguished colleagues in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2018 Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
Those who don't have the patience to wait for the release of the as-yet-untitled next Spider-Man film can also breathe easy.
Deadline has reported that Holland will be part of the all-star cast of Christopher Nolan's upcoming cinematic adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, with an expected July 2026 release.
Announced to include "brand new IMAX film technology," Holland is expected to appear opposite the likes of Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Zendaya.
Zendaya became Holland's real-life romantic partner after playing his on-screen love interest, MJ, in the Spider-Man films. And, after fan speculation about a diamond ring Zendaya wore to Sunday night's Golden Globes, and showed off to a reporter, a family source has confirmed their engagement. Congratulations, you two!

Millie Bobby Brown Bluntly Rips Trolls After New Selfie Is Met With Looks-Shaming Comments
Jan 06, 2025
Newsflash: Millie Bobby Brown is not a child anymore! and she
The Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star, who is now 20, refuses to apologize to people who try to shame her for growing up. She recently clapped back at such comments on a recent mirror selfie of hers.
She took to her Instagram stories and told them off.
"Women grow! Not sorry about it. :)"
Brown's 2024 was full with her wedding to long-time boyfriend Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, earlier in the year.
Additionally, Stranger Things finished its fifth and final season production on December 20th.
Brown, whose rise to stardom came with the show, had a lot of fond things to say as production wrapped.
"I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys. I love each and every one of you and I'll forever carry the memories and bonds we've created together, as a family. I love you. Thank you."
People weren't shocked that she was annoyed by folks commenting on how she wasn't a young teen anymore.
Many people were happy to see her confidence in herself.
Also, lots of people were perplexed, as the tone of the shaming comments was that she went from teenager to 40s.
Some pointed out that she looked older than that to them.
Lots of people just said she looks good, and moved on.
Folks liked her short, but blunt, message.
She will next star in a Russo brothers film, The Electric State.

Elon Musk Slammed For The Timing Of His Announced 'Algorithm Tweak' To X
Jan 06, 2025
Billionaire Elon Musk was criticized for the timing of his announced "algorithm tweak" to X that he characterized as an effort to boost more "informational/entertaining" content on the platform.
He wrote:
Algorithm tweak coming soon to promote more informational/entertaining content. We will publish the changes to [X Engineering]. Our goal is to maximize unregretted user-seconds. Too much negativity is being pushed that technically grows user time, but not unregretted user time."
You can see his post below.
But it did not escape people that Musk's announcement comes just two weeks before President-elect Donald Trump takes office—and after previous algorithm tweaks prioritized conspiracy theories and negative content about the Biden administration.
Liberal activist Ed Krassenstein was one of the most prominent voices to note this:
"Elon Musk just announced that X will start penalizing negativity and propping up posts that are positive. This is definitely interesting timing, given the fact that X essentially rewarded negativity when Biden was president, but is shifting to penalize negativity under Trump."
You can see his post below.
Others were also quick to call this out, noting that such a change could place critics of him and the new regime at risk.
Wow, what a coincidence - the big boss now disapproves of “negative” posting now that the election is over and his preferred party is in power. Funny that this should happen right after protracted in-fighting regarding H1-B visas 🤔 Love to have free speech! #LeopardsAteMyFace

Ah, the sudden love for “uplifting positivity” on X’s algorithm—perfect timing with the new administration, totally a coincidence!

The algorithm change also highlights Musk's personal insecurities—and this is not out of the blue.
In 2023, Platformerreported that after Musk threatened to fire his remaining engineers, they reportedly created a system specifically designed to ensure that Musk's tweets receive unprecedented promotion across the platform. This initiative came after one of Musk's Super Bowl tweets garnered less engagement than a post by President Joe Biden.
Additionally, Musk fired one of the two remaining principal engineers after the engineer explained that declining views on Musk's tweets were partially due to a general waning of interest in him.

Rihanna Hilariously Claps Back After Troll Demanding New Album Calls Her 'Forehead'
Jan 06, 2025
R&B superstar Rihanna fired back at a troll who went too far in demanding she release a new album.
The "Love On the Brain" singer's eighth and most recent studio album was 2016's Anti, which she started recording in 2014.
It spawned the hit single "Work" and became the fourth-longest charting female album in Billboard 200 history, as of March 2024.
The 36-year-old mother of two kids has been busy with humanitarian efforts, dabbling in fashion house collaborations, launching the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and acting in films like Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017), and Ocean's 8 (20018).
Yet, fans, understandably, have been clamoring for the singer to release new music material.
But one "fan" crossed the line with a remark that prompted Rihanna to clap back without hesitation.
It started with an Instagram video in which RiRi rang in the new year with friends joining her in counting down to 2025.
The joyous moment prompted her to proudly declare she was sober all year, which was cause for further celebration.
"Y’all, I didn’t drink all year! I didn’t drink all year," she said in the video after the countdown.
She also wrote in the caption, "New Year, New Me."
Unfortunately, an Instagrammer going by the handle @lorenzohirmez ignored the festive occasion to crudely remind the singer it was time to get back into the recording studio.
They wrote:
"We want an album forehead."
As if that was an incentive. Nope.
Rihanna was not about to let that one slide.
She tagged the disrespectful user and replied:
"Listen Lorenzo! You ain't cute enough to be calling me by my black name you dizzy f'k!"
Here is a screenshot of the fiery exchange.
@badgalriri/Instagram
Social media users commented on the breach of online etiquette when interacting with celebrities.
Meanwhile, fans were here for her no-nonsense response.
The Grammy-winning pop icon is self-aware of her distinctive forehead and addressed the topic while discussing motherhood in an interview on Access Hollywood.
“You don’t have an idea [when you picture your future family]. I hoped that I could have kids one day. And I hoped that I could have them in love. I hoped I could be a part of a family that breaks generational curses… it’s happening, and I can’t believe it," said Rihanna.
With levity, she continued mentioning her first son, RZA Athelaston Mayers–named after Wu-Tang Clan leader and founder RZA.
“The only thing I imagined was probably the forehead on RZA."
In terms of the music scene, Rihanna hasn't been entirely absent.
In 2022, she released the solo tracks "Lift Me Up" and "Born Again" exclusively for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
The following year, Rihanna headlined the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, marking her first live performance in over five years. The highly-praised spectacle became the most-watched halftime show in history reaching 121 million viewers across TV and digital platforms.
Regarding the possibility of a ninth studio album, she told British Vogue in a 2023 interview:
"When you come off of an album like 'Anti' ... there's this pressure that I put on myself. That if it's not better than that then it is not even worth it."
Rihanna noted that being pressured to release new material by prioritizing deadlines over creative integrity was "not the right way to look at music."
"If I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it's going to keep taking forever and maybe it'll never come out and no, I'm not down to that," she added.
When the artist is ready, it'll be worth the wait for true fans.
