The NYPD—who came under fire in 2020 for being caught on video in violent interactions with protesters, covering their badge numbers during protests and defying pandemic protocols—are facing criticism for yet another video.

This time the NYPD were called out for a rescue.

Of a raccoon.

The incident was shared on TikTok.

The video shows a racoon on a building ledge in downtown Manhattan, with the police holding a tarp to catch the animal when it fell.

They visibly let go of the tarp after the critter jumps from the building, causing it to fall to the ground.

People online were less than impressed.

The cop who appears to have been responsible for the side of the tarp not being held had his back turned to the action, looking at passersby, instead of watching the raccoon.

Trump Accidentally Roasts Himself With Ironic Question About 'Stupid People'

President Donald Trump was widely mocked after he attempted to defend his disastrous tariff strategy to reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday and issued a rhetorical question about "stupid people" that said more about him than anyone else.

Trump would later declare a full 90-day suspension of all the “reciprocal” tariffs that took effect at midnight April 10—except for those on China—in a dramatic about-face from a president who had long championed his historically high tariff rates as permanent.
