Sean Hannity Is Getting Dragged for His Painfully Tone Deaf Reaction to Pelosi Wanting Trump 'Locked Up'

Sean Hannity Is Getting Dragged for His Painfully Tone Deaf Reaction to Pelosi Wanting Trump 'Locked Up'
Fox News

Oh, this is rich.

Supporters of President Donald Trump balked at the news that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reportedly expressed to colleagues that she wanted to see Trump in prison.

Trump responded to the report as well, calling Pelosi a "nasty, vindictive, horrible person."

Like clockwork, Trump ally and far-Right Fox News host Sean Hannity used his slot to echo Trump's sentiments, railing against Pelosi for wanting to imprison political opponents who haven't committed crimes.

Watch below:

Hannity said:

"It is now the party of anti-Trump rage and psychosis...Based on no actual crimes, [Pelosi] wants a political opponent locked up in prison. Umm, that happens in banana republics. Beyond despicable behavior."

If calls for a political figure to "locked up" without being convicted of a crime sound familiar, you aren't the only one who noticed.

New York Times White House Correspondent Maggie Haberman pointed out some glaring irony.

The "lock her up" chant has become a mainstay of Trump's rallies. It targets Trump's 2016 Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, whom he accuses of being corrupt and lawless—despite Clinton never being convicted or charged with a crime, even after a years long FBI investigation.

It's jarring to many that Trump supporters like Hannity don't seem to realize the irony here.

Yikes.
