Sure about that?

On Wednesday, Special Counsel Robert Mueller held a surprise press conference wherein he elaborated on his report of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, as well as President Donald Trump's attempts to obstruct it.

After Mueller's press conference—which brought little to no information not previously covered in the report—the President's son, Donald Trump Jr., began boasting on Twitter.

The claims that there was no collusion or obstruction are downright lies. In both cases, the report says that there was insufficient evidence to pursue these crimes—not that no crimes occurred. In fact, Mueller stated explicitly during the presser:

"If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so.”

People immediately began fact checking him for this claim.

As for the investigation being based on lies, many pointed out Trump Jr.'s willingness to meet with Russian operatives for damaging information on Hillary Clinton—a meeting that would come to be known infamously as the "Trump Tower Meeting." When asked if this information would interest him enough to meet, Trump Jr. responded in an email:

"If it's what you say it is, I love it."

People hadn't forgotten this.

Soon, people were pointing out things they believe actually remain unchanged.

However, one thing Don Jr. said was true:

Nice try.

Legendary journalist Dan Rather went viral and had social media users nodding their heads after sharing a supposed Turkish proverb about "clowns" aimed at President Donald Trump.

In recent days, the Trump administration has come under fire for the Signal chat scandal, in which top officials discussed war plans in Yemen on an unsecured server; deported a man to El Salvador and defended the move because the man had "traffic violations;" has continued to court controversy over Trump's repeated threats to annex Greenland; has further aggravated relations with Canada; and launched a global trade war that has sent markets tumbling.
