Fail.

Americans were alarmed on Saturday when President Donald Trump was rushed to Walter Reed Medical Center unannounced in a highly unusual diversion from protocol.

The White House insisted that the visit was to conduct the first portion of his annual physical, but people had questions as to why Trump was hidden from public view for two days afterward, why the staff at Walter Reed wasn't alerted, and why the "physical" wasn't performed in the White House medical unit.

Rather than answering these questions with in-depth answers regarding the President's health, Trump loyalists followed the example of their leader and trolled his critics on Twitter.

The Trump campaign Twitter account tweeted a mock X-ray of Trump as Superman.

Though campaign staffers likely thought they were "owning the libs," most people weren't impressed.

Others pointed out that Superman was an undocumented immigrant after crash landing in the U.S. in an escape pod as his home planet of Krypton exploded. He also became a journalist at the Daily Planet, whom Trump would undoubtedly describe as an "enemy of the people." Superman's worst enemy is also a billionaire who inexplicably becomes President of the United States.

Some responded with pictures of their own.

A cease and desist from DC Comics likely awaits.
