The Navy SEALs are under fire after a racially insensitive video from the Navy SEAL museum in Fort Pierce, Florida surfaced online.

In the video, which was reportedly captured at a fundraiser for the museum, a military K-9 unit demonstrates its capabilities by chasing down and attacking a man in a Colin Kaepernick jersey.

You can see the video here:

After the video went viral, the Navy issued a statement disavowing the video's contents, saying:

"The inherent message of this video is completely inconsistent with the values and ethos of Naval Special Warfare and the U.S. Navy."

Twitter, however, was not placated by the Navy's official statement.

Many people noted bringing attention to this kind of systemic racism was part of Kaepernick's protest.

It was announced shortly after the video surfaced that the Navy would be investigating the incident.

Twitter thought the people responsible for this demonstration should be held accountable.

Military officers are meant to protect the United States Constitution which includes free speech and the right to protest, not threaten it with violence.

Time will tell what the Navy's investigation turns up or if the people involved with this demonstration face consequences.

However, on Thursday, authorities admitted, “frankly, we don’t know” the true extent of the death toll. Evacuation orders are currently affecting nearly 180,000 residents, as thousands of homes and buildings have been destroyed.
