Nanny and TikToker @Alyssa.Glavan left viewers horrified after recounting how she found a spycam in the bathroom she used, ultimately leading to the family's dad getting arrested and charged with video voyeurism.

A former nanny on TikTok revealed how she discovered a hidden camera in a bathroom smoke detector which ultimately led to the father of the family she nannied for being arrested and charged on 11 counts of video voyeurism.

How absolutely terrifying.

TikToker @Alyssa.Glavan had viewers floored when she explained.

She shared she had seen an article about the story, but it was loaded with inaccuracies.

So she set the record straight.

She began:

"OK, so I am making this video from the airport. I was a nanny for Bethancourt AC and Heating."
"I recently saw a post on Mandeville Mommas about a local AC company, the man in charge getting [charged with] 11 counts of video voyeurism."
"Whoever posted it has the story mixed up."
"So I was their nanny and I'm gonna attach receipts."

We're listening.

The TikToker continued:

"One day I was using the bathroom and I looked in front of me because I had dropped some Q-tips."
"I went to pick the Q-tips up and I see a smoke detector in the closet, in the bottom of the closet, in the bathroom.”

So, of course, she investigated.

“OK so if you look right there, that is the camera part. So I made a few phone calls, figured out it was a camera. "
"I took it off the wall and saw that there was an SD card in the back."

The QR code on the back confirmed her suspicions that it was a "secret spy cam."

So she got out of the house as fast as she could and brought her concerns to the police.

“So I took it to the police."
"I had their baby with me. I called the mom, said there was like a medical emergency and I needed somebody to come get their baby, but I obviously wasn't going to stay at their house."

And the findings were pretty sickening.

"So the detectives went through the stuff."
"He got charged with 11 counts of video voyeurism, which is just from that one camera that he had in the bathroom that I was using."
"But I do believe that they're still investigating.”

In the comments, the TikToker further explained her reason for posting the story.

“I have been struggling with knowing what to do with the information but it has been a few weeks since he posted bail and nothing has been made public so I figured it was time I spoke up.”

She also posted audio of the father's admission in which he stated:

"I f**ked up. I'm sorry."
"I was just being perverted. I don't know what else to say."

Many also could not get over the father's weak excuse for his disturbing behavior.

And others wondered if cameras could have been hidden elsewhere.

Sadly, it seems that more and more hidden cameras are being discovered, especially now that short-term rentals such as Airbnb and VRBO are on the rise.

Fortunately, many TikToks have been dedicated to helping viewers know what to look for when staying in someone else's place.

We're so sorry that @Alyssa.Glavan experienced what she did. Hopefully her story—along with other TikToks—can help others on the platform be aware of their surroundings.
