A Muslim woman in Santa Monica, California was pleasantly surprised to find multiple people came to her defense after a White woman began berating her for wearing her hijab in a store.

The woman attempted to cut in front of TikToker @zardanainjali in the checkout line at a local grocery store.

When @zardanainjali tried to say something, the woman launced into her Islamaphobic tirade.

@zardanainjali

Thanks to you #Karen i’m going to wear my #hijab loud and #proud #racist #islamaphobe #fypシ #muslim #islam #peace #blm #forypupage #middleeastern #

Suddenly another shopper joined in.

"Don't talk to her like that," said the other shopper, a Black woman.

The White woman then called the Muslim woman a "f'king Middle-Easterner who thinks she's f'king privileged."

After that, several other people came to her rescue, with half of the video showcasing a veritable crowd of people who stepped up to defend her.

A couple then offered to walk her to her car in order to give her further protection and comfort.

At the end of the video, @zardanainjali began to break down.

She wrote in the text on-screen:

"I'm so embarrassed for breaking down and crying but no child should see their mom being attacked....no child should be traumatized like this."

The trauma of a bigoted attack is great, despite the amount of people who jumped in to help the victim.

But the fact people jumped in at all?

That's a big deal. Hopefully it can inspire others to jump in the next time they see something like this happening.
