Former congressional candidate and founder of MuslimGirl, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh was arrested in November 2020 on an American Airlines flight.
A first-class passenger allegedly complained Al-Khatahtbeh was making them "feel uncomfortable" so they called the police to remove her from the plane.
On November 14, she tweeted about the passenger who cut her off in line for TSA and then proceeded to tell her to "cut it out."
He then proceeded to not only shove his things before mine, but then RUN THROUGH THE MACHINE and TSA did NOTHING!

Not only did they not do anything, a TSA officer had the audacity to tell ME to “cut it out.” 2/3— AMANI (@AMANI) 1605363488
Guys he made a complaint about me and @AmericanAir is attempting to remove me from the flight— AMANI (@AMANI) 1605366448
She also posted a video of the manager who tried to get her removed from the plane when they were already seated.
This is the @AmericanAir manager coming onboard to tell me that they're removing me from my flight because "there is a passenger onboard who doesn't feel comfortable" with me.pic.twitter.com/pwBS5NkvAn— AMANI (@AMANI) 1605420309
The manager said to her:
"The reason why you're being removed is because...There's a passenger on board who doesn't feel comfortable with you being here."
American Airlines originally made a statement about the incident:
"Our understanding is that Ms. Al-Khatahtbeh believed the other passenger, who is enrolled in PreCheck, was getting favorable treatment because he was allowed to proceed through security while she was removing her shoes."
"This led to a verbal altercation that continued through the terminal and on the plane where Ms. Al-Khatahtbeh confronted the passenger and began filming him before taking her seat."
According to The Guardian, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey arrested Al-Khatahtbeh for "delay of transportation and trespass" after American Airlines called police, but she was later released.
Nine months after this incident, Al-Khatahtbeh shared in a TikTok her charges were finally dismissed.
@amani Reply to @attorneytom american airlines finally dropped the charges. now it’s time to sue 👊🏾
In the video, she wrote:
"American Airlines privately wrote a letter to the court basically admitting they f*cked up and to drop the charges."
She also tweeted the letter from American Airlines who wanted to put the whole thing behind them.
The letter ended:
"Following the incident, in a gesture of goodwill, American Airlines issued Ms. Al-Khatahtbeh a partial refund of the price of her tickets and also offered to re-accommodate her in business class."
"American Airlines does not wish to prosecute this matter any further and wishes to put this unfortunate incident behind us so Ms. Al-Khatahtbeh can move on from it without any trouble or inconvenience."
"We hope this puts this matter to rest."
However, the issue is far from over. Amani Al-Khatahtbeh says in her TikTok video and tweet she is ready to sue American Airlines.
As of yesterday, the charges in my American Airlines arrest after a first-class passenger complained that I made him “feel uncomfortable” — have been HEREBY DISMISSED.

9 months later. To this day, that passenger has faced 0 consequences.

Now I’m suing.pic.twitter.com/kJTItgxDsg— AMANI (@AMANI) 1625939988
She also said in her TikTok video:
"I'm glad it's behind us.."
"Now you know American Airlines and the Port Authority, I'm suing your a**es."
"Lawyer up a**holes."
Al-Khatahtbeh received public support on her video.
