MTG Blasted For Her Unhinged Reaction To A UK Reporter Asking Her A Question

MTG, Martha Kelner
C-SPAN

Sky News reporter Martha Kelner was attempting to ask Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene a question about the Signal app disaster when Greene abruptly stopped to ask Kelner, "Where are you from?" before telling her to "go back to your country."

Far right Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was bashed for viciously shutting down a British reporter who had a question about the Signal group chat scandal, AKA "Signalgate."

Republican President Donald Trump's administration continues to downplay concerns after The Atlantic'seditor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was mistakenly added to the Signal messaging app's group chat in which U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth shared with top intelligence officials the specific weapons programs regarding the U.S. war strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Goldberg released the full transcript discussion, including military operational details that Hegseth maintained were not "classified" information and that no "war plans" were shared.

When MTG was asked by Sky News reporter Martha Kelner about Signalgate, the annoyed Georgia Congresswoman immediately snapped at the British journalist and told her to "go back to your country."

In the exchange captured by C-SPAN, Kelner was heard asking MTG, "Should the Defense Secretary..."

MTG interrupted Kelner and asked:

"Wait, what country are you from?"

When Kelner replied that she was from the UK, MTG fired back:

"OK, we don't give a crap about your opinion and your reporting."
"Why don’t you go back to your country where you have a major migrant problem?"

Kelner remained persistent in trying to finish asking her question, but it was to no avail.

"No, no, no, you should care about your own borders," said MTG, wagging her finger.

"Do you care about American lives? Kelner asked, to which MTG responded:

"Let me tell you something, do you care about people from your country? What about all the women that are raped by migrants?"

The MAGA conspiracy theorist put her hand to Kelner's face and said, "You're done."

Greene finished, "I don't care about your fake news."

Here's a clip.

MTG then fielded a question from an American reporter while explaining to Kelner that the press conference was an "American journalist thing."

The American reporter MTG had called on confirmed, "Yes, I’m American," and added that he wanted to hear MTG respond to the question Kelner had asked.

MTG refused to respond because "I don't care about her network."

Social media users lambasted MTG, not only for her lack of professionalism, but for her unhinged conduct while demeaning a foreign press member.

When asked to respond to the "complete disregard for operational security" coming from the Trump administration, MTG responded the way her GOP colleagues have always done—by swatting away accountability and blaming Democratic President Joe Biden and his administration's immigration policies.

MTG reminded the press that they were gathered to discuss the topic of federal funding for public broadcasters NPR and PBS, "not journalists from the UK."

She ended the session by walking away and putting her hand to Kelner's face as the journalist tried in vain to ask another question.

A real class act...
