Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene was criticized after demanding a "blanket pardon" from President-elect Donald Trump to her and her fellow Republicans.
Greene's remarks came after Biden granted “a full and unconditional” pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, covering federal gun and tax charges. Hunter Biden had been scheduled to be sentenced for his federal gun conviction on December 12 and for his tax case just four days later.
The pardon applies to all “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024, including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted.”
The GOP—which used Hunter Biden's offenses in a failed attempt to impeach his father—has been up in arms since then, accusing Biden of abusing his pardon power.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Greene said:
"If Democrats are going to play the pardon game then we should do the same thing. Trump can just blanket pardon all of us too."

Greene was reportedly among at least five lawmakers who requested pardons from Trump before he left office in 2021. The request was linked to their involvement in Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, which he falsely claimed to have won despite losing by several million votes.
This information came from Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who told the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 insurrection that she "heard that she [Greene] asked the White House counsel’s office for a pardon."
Greene at the time dismissed this revelation, calling it "gossip and lies."
But people were quick to call out her hypocrisy.
Greene's demand is also hypocritical because she was immediately critical of Biden pardoning his son.
Earlier this week, Greene said Biden's pardon is an “admission that Hunter is a criminal.” Accusing him of going after Trump and his family cause, Greene called Biden "a liar and a hypocrite, all the way to the end."
Greene previously called on a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress after he flouted a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee ordering him to appear for a closed-door interview.
At the time, he responded by noting that the committee had given him the option to testify in a public hearing, ensuring transparency and preventing Republicans from cherry-picking or selectively releasing portions of his testimony.
Greene called him a "coward" and joined fellow Republicans in demanding his arrest. She had previously come under fire for sharing sexually explicit images of Hunter Biden during one hearing and suggesting without any evidence that they showed him “making pornography."
