People Break Down Their Most Controversial Food Opinions

People Break Down Their Most Controversial Food Opinions

For the life of me, I don't understand why people get so up in arms about people who put pineapple on their pizza. It's like some weird internet meme that went out of control and that some people now take far too seriously. Let people eat the pizza they want!

Turns out people have all sorts of thoughts about what's acceptable cuisine and what isn't, as we were so deftly reminded after Redditor QueenCreeper756 asked the online community,

"What's the most controversial food opinion that you hold?"

"Everyone I know..."

"You can eat anything, any time. Have a three-course pasta-based feast for breakfast. Do it. I dare you. Everyone I know says you can't do that because it's not "breakfast food" and whatnot. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT."

MR_System

I agree with this. Eating pasta for breakfast is way healthier than eating doughnuts, by the way.

"I put that stuff..."

"MSG is awesome. I put that in a salt shaker 50/50 with table salt and use it in everything that calls for salt. Pure umami is game-changing."

TacoManPJ

"Muffins are just cake..."

"Muffins are just cake disguised as a breakfast food."

chiulu3

"I think part of it..."

"I don't like chocolate chip pancakes.

I want to; the description appeals to me. I love pancakes, even with a variety of toppings; and I love chocolate, including chocolate chip cookies.

But for some reason, chocolate chip pancakes just don't work for me.

I think part of it is the texture, even though texture doesn't usually put me off. The chocolate ends up melty, but in a sort of chalky way. And the way it sort of blends into the pancake… And then for some odd reason, those two flavors together just aren't enjoyable for me.

Yeah, I just don't like it."

brndm

I do agree that they're overrated as hell.

"Corned beef hash..."

"Corned beef hash is somehow delicious and smells like cat food."

Mober2

It does not! How dare you?! (And yes, it is indeed delicious.)

"I don't mind..."

"I don't mind the taste of tomatoes but they are too slippery. They undermine the structural integrity of the burger and everything goes haywire. They are simply not safe."

Further_slimeking

"Yeah, it's good..."

"Avocado is overrated. Yeah, it's good, but I know so many people that will pay $20 for 2 pieces of toast with green slime on it."

Champu112

"Not just sardines..."

"Canned fish is awesome! Not just sardines and anchovies but you can get all kinds of fish in cans, even stuff like clams and even squid! And if you prefer food without too many additives or processing, look at the back of the can, it typically says something like "ingredients: fish, salt, some sort of oil (veg or sunflower or something) and with some, the processing is so minimal the fish is just cooked in the can after sealing during the pasteurization process."

knock-off-paste

I have found my people! Canned fish is incredible.

"I don't like it myself..."

"Pineapple on pizza is fine. I don't like it myself but I'm not going to roast someone who enjoys it. I'm not on this earth to gatekeep pizza toppings, as some apparently are."

SeaofDeadFaces

"The only thing..."

"The only thing worse than raisins are raisins in baked goods."

Comprehensive-Bowl96

We all have our opinions––and some are more controversial than others. I'm of the belief that we should just let people enjoy themselves. What's the harm, right? As long as they're eating!

Powerful Line From Sotomayor's Scathing Dissent After ICE Ruling Ignites Standing Ovation On 'Colbert'

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor received a standing ovation during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after Colbert read a line from her powerful dissent following the Court's ruling that immigration agents can use racial profiling when conducting arrests.

The case was brought by several individuals detained during ICE raids. A federal district judge initially found the raids unconstitutional under the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.
