Mormon Student Pranks His Pro-Life Mom Into Thinking He Got A Stripper Pregnant—And Her Reaction Says It All

Mormon Student Pranks His Pro-Life Mom Into Thinking He Got A Stripper Pregnant—And Her Reaction Says It All

After the controversial SCOTUS ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade, many states rushed to severely limit or ban access to reproductive healthcare choices, declaring themselves pro-life as mostly Evangelical Christian constituents wanted.

Utah is one of the states that banned abortion outright except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the pregnant person.

Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah has a student population that is almost 100% Mormon. Many of their families are among the loudest and most determined pro-life voices—staunchly opposed to contraceptives and abortion with the belief life begins at conception and all of this is God's plan and should play out as such.

Allegedly.

In theory.

Like in hypothetical situations.

For other people.

For themselves and in the real world, though ...

A video, posted by TikTok user @lexi.99, is a clip pulled from a longer YouTube video. The full clip is over 11 minutes long, but the condensed for TikTok version tells the story well enough.

A BYU student was paid $500 to prank call his Mormon pro-life mother and try to convince her he got a stripper pregnant.

It didn't take long to convince her of that part—she didn't seem to have any issue believing her conservative Mormon son would have sex with strippers.

Instead, she immediately began questioning the imaginary woman in the situation, asking how she could possibly know she was pregnant already which means this woman, this mother, understands it often takes weeks before you know you're pregnant.

A caption in the TikTok video points out how many states have rules in place that expect a woman to know at or before 4 weeks.

After dwelling on the time-line for a moment, the mother immediately advises her son to tell the woman to get an abortion.

His face realizing his "pro-life" mother was very pro-abortion when it came to anything that actually impacted her...

The young man, shocked at how quickly and nonchalantly his mother tossed abortion out as the solution—regardless of legality, the strong moral and religious stance she's allegedly held or accessibility issues since this is Utah and clearly not a case of rape or incest—questioned if she was serious.

"Mom, no!" he gasped.

Without missing a beat, pro-lifer mom confirmed she was serious.

Then she asked where he found a stripper, throwing a little extra disgust on it as if the imaginary woman carrying her imaginary grandchild was something to be spat on. He tried making up a story, but eventually his shock got the better of him and he told her the truth about the prank.

Mom hung up wordlessly.

The clip was reposted to TikTok as a reminder "that rich White conservatives will ALWAYS have access to safe abortions, and have no problem utilizing this privilege when it impacts them."

The hypocrisy was so real and deserved to be called out.
