Mom Says She Was Hit With 5-Year Ban From Six Flags For Wearing Denim Shorts That Were 'Too Short'

A mother who was spending a day at Six Flags Frontier City park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her family had her visit cut short after she was allegedly body-shamed by park security and threatened with criminal trespassing.

They claimed her denim shorts were inappropriately short.

Bailey Breedlove spent roughly two hours inside Frontier City before the encounter with officers. She has since been banned from visiting the Six Flags park for five years.

Breedlove posted a TikTok video of her interaction with the officer who deemed her shorts offensive.

Breedlove recounted her time at Frontier City on April 30 in a Facebook post to alert people of the park's "vague policies."

She described her experience there as "traumatizing"—which began after her 11-year-old daughter was reprimanded for rolling around on her Heelys. Heelys are skate shoes with wheels popular among kids.

From there, Breedlove was grabbed and turned around by a female park officer who berated her for wearing shorts that were "too short."

"I committed no crime and proceeded to walk to my boyfriend as I am autistic and have a hard time talking to officers. She followed me yelling and calling for backup."
"Then your incompetent manager showed up and began body shaming me. I was told I needed to go buy new shorts which I am not obligated to purchase anything I don't want to."

Breedlove added:

"Then I was threatened with criminal trespassing when I agreed to buy new shorts so my family could enjoy their vacation. I was then pushed and escorted toward the entrance."
'Accepting this, we were about to leave and were blocked by your female officer from leaving and she pulled out her cuffs and demanded my ID. When we asked for probable cause their answer was 'because they are the police'."

Breedlove filmed the interaction, and the footage was later posted in a TikTok video which showed her daughter—who was sitting next to her—appearing to be crying because she thought her mother was being arrested.

According to the Kansas City Star, the Six Flags dress code policy states the park does "not allow clothing generally considered to be offensive."

Breedlove also posted a video explanation about what happened in a separate TikTok.

The video of her time at Frontier City was viewed over 2.4 million times as of Tuesday night.

Many TikTok users supported Breedlove and expressed in the comments she was being harassed by the female officer.

Several Twitter users thought if her shorts were an issue, it should have been addressed at the park entrance when she arrived.

Many saw nothing wrong with the length of her shorts.

A handful thought Breedlove should have been more mindful of her attire.

Six Flags sent a statement to McClatchy News saying the park asks:

"that guests wear attire appropriate for our family-friendly environment and expect guests to behave in a family-friendly manner."
"Disruptive or offensive behavior or the use of profanity or abusive language or gestures will not be tolerated and may result in a guest being removed from the park."

Six Flags claimed Breedlove used profanity during her encounter with security, but none is heard in the TikTok video.

"The guest was initially stopped because her shorts exposed a significant portion of her buttocks. She was given multiple opportunities to change or cover up, but refused. Instead, she responded with profanity and offensive conduct, including further exposing her buttocks."
"The guest was removed from the park after she refused to stop her unruly and offensive behavior, targeted at the police and other park guests. The video clip this guest has posted on the internet does not fully portray her behavior during this incident."

On Tuesday night, Six flags also posted a tweet claiming Breedlove was kicked out and banned not because of a dress code violation, but specifically because of her "behavior towards the police, our team members, and other park guests."

"Six Flags does not body shame and did not remove this guest from Frontier City because of the length of her shorts."
"Six Flags is committed to creating an inclusive environment and does not tolerate racism, discrimination, or hateful behvaior in any form or from anyone, whether a team member or park guest."

Breedlove concluded her Facebook post addressing Six Flags.

"Your policies are vague and confusing and the way you body shame and discriminate is unlawful."
"I have a 5 year ban now but will not be returning to any of your parks if this is how you treat women and law abiding citizens and visitors. You should be ashamed with yourselves."
