Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney took a bad fall in Boston over the weekend while visiting his grandchildren in the state of his former governorship.
The fall knocked Romney unconscious and gave him a black eye.
"I took a fall. Knocked me unconscious. But I'm doing better," he said to reporters on Capitol Hill.
He also took the opportunity to roast the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Romney was snubbed by the conference over his open criticism of Donald Trump.
Romney was one of seven GOP Senators who broke ranks with his party and voted to convict former President Trump of inciting an insurrection at the US Capitol.
He was the only GOP Senator who broke ranks in 2020 and voted to convict Trump of abuse of power.
Another Utah politician, former House Representative Jason Chaffetz, made It a point to say he was "not Mitt Romney" at CPAC, which seemingly existed only to praise former President Trump.
Romney has several stitches above his eye and on his lip, but will make a full recovery.
