TikToker @brit617 was stunned to discover "what the slit on the microwave popcorn bag is for" after realizing it could be used to make the popcorn-eating experience easier.

While some will argue about the quality and sanctity of microwaveable popcorn, we can all agree that the process of throwing a bag of microwave-safe popcorn into the microwave, waiting a few minutes, and then enjoying a bowl of steaming hot kernels with our favorite butter and seasonings is a pretty easy task.

But TikToker @brit617, who's constantly trying out new hacks that are useful for moms and families, may have just found a way to make the process a little bit easier.

Some of those who use microwaveable popcorn bags might get frustrated by the kernels that get left behind. While it's possible to eat them, some find it uncomfortable or unpleasant to chew them, and some just find it annoying to pick up an unpopped kernel instead of a nice puffy one.

The TikToker and mom shared in a recent video that she discovered a quick way to filter out the corn kernels, and that's simply by flipping the bag over above a bowl and shaking the kernels out through the ventilation slit before pulling the bag open.

After a series of shakes, she revealed the pile of kernels that had been lurking in her bag of popcorn, which she could then dispose of properly before pouring the popped popcorn into the bowl.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who didn’t know this until today 🤦🏻‍♀️🍿 #lifehacks #popcorn #microwavepopcorn #momhack

Some were floored that they never thought of this hack before.

Others pointed out that the slit is *actually* for ventilation purposes, but still found this hack to be useful.

Items that are placed in the microwave generally have some means for heat and steam to escape so that the food container, or in this case bag, will not explode. The slit honestly is probably for that purpose, but hey, what's the harm in a dual-purpose feature?

While microwaving popcorn is already pretty easy and laid back for someone of practically any age to do, it never hurts to discover a new hack that makes a frequent snack in some households all the easier.

For those who cannot chew the kernels or get frustrated when they find them mixed into the bowl, this sounds like the next hack to try!

Polyakov, 24, arrived at the northeastern shore of North Sentinel Island at 10 a.m. on March 29, according to police reports. He used binoculars to survey the land but saw no one. Vivian Wilson Drags Dad Elon Musk For Claiming Protesters Are Being Paid By Democrats

After billionaire Elon Musk erroneously claimed that massive anti-Trump administration protests around the country have been full of "paid protesters," his estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, underscored the extent of his hypocrisy in a post on Threads.

Millions of people participated in protests against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk on Saturday, with demonstrations held across all 50 states and around the world. The protests, organized by a pro-democracy movement, were a response to what they describe as a "hostile takeover" and an attack on American rights and freedoms.

Musk Slammed For Criticizing 'Suicidal Empathy' Of SCOTUS Justices Who Ruled In Favor Of Due Process

Once again borrowing from the language of the toxic, insecure, red pill/blue pill, alpha male, incel subcultures that gave rise to public figures like Andrew Tate and Nick Fuentes, Elon Musk attacked the women of the United States Supreme Court for following the rule of law and the United States Constitution instead of showing fealty to Republican President Donald Trump.

In a 4-5 dissent, only the women of SCOTUS decided the core of our justice system—due process—can stop the kinds of mistakes Trump's Department of Homeland Security is making routinely, like ICE abducting and deporting innocent people with visa or green cards to a hellish prison in El Salvador.
