Far-right Congresswoman and prominent conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia issued a lengthy video response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's recent address to a joint succession of Congress regarding the invasion of his country at the hands of Russia President Vladimir Putin.
The Congresswoman expressed opposition to Biden's announcement that $800 million in additional military aid would be sent to the country, claiming that Ukraine "could not possibly win" the war against Russia's much larger arsenal.

Throughout the video, Greene repeatedly suggests that Ukraine should surrender, emphasizing that it "cannot possibly win" a war against Russia and that the "outcome already seems certain.":
"If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens. We cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to Ukraine to fight a war they cannot possibly win. ... It's not our responsibility to give President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people false hope about a war they cannot win. ... We can do all this without sending a dime and without shipping bombs to further inflame a war whose outcome already seems certain."
Greene also dismissed the fact that Putin violently invaded a sovereign country, calling the invasion “a conflict in which peace agreements have been violated by both sides.” Her comments come just over two weeks after Greene spoke at the white nationalist event AFPAC, where its founder—outspoken racist and antisemite Nick Fuentes—led the crowd in cheering for Putin right before introducing Greene.
Greene also emphasized her belief that sending aid to Ukraine would result in another protracted war for the U.S., though Biden has repeatedly insisted there will be no boots on the ground in Ukraine. If Russia's war expands beyond Ukraine to a NATO country, the U.S. would be obligated under Article V to treat that invasion as an act of war.
Social media users condemned Greene's opposition to providing aid.
I hope people are waking up and realizing that the Republican Party isn't an American political party anymore, it's Putin's puppet.
There's nothing American about standing up for Russia and nothing American about validating dictators. Any true American will stand against this! https://t.co/xLDNIj0kwK

She doesn’t think the shooting in Parkland happened should she really be talking about the US should be doing foreign policy or any policy wise?
All Putin has to do is tell Alex Jones NATO is a product of the deep state and MTG would be on board. https://t.co/vVtQCeVujp

This is one person I am very thankful that I do not know and never have to associate with. Full of hate. Knows very little. Needs a mental evaluation - NOW! https://t.co/zDx41n7M2L

Others accused Greene of repeating Putin's talking points.
I make a point of not amplifying this awful person. But her determination here to assist Putin’s bloody effort and demoralize any of us who recognize this is a battle for democracy, sovereignty and a forward-looking future is repellant and dangerous. pic.twitter.com/osU8nGUWuE

There is literally no space between Putin and the Republican Party. They do his bidding time after time. https://t.co/RBbQcFKjmu

We’re now at a point where the modern @GOP will openly back an authoritarian dictator for no reason other than to go against the Dems. I’m speechless. https://t.co/6YxJmuMxBP

Republicans are the Party of Putin. @RepMTG is shouting it out loud for everyone to hear. They want Russia to take over Ukraine. They want authoritarianism to prevail over democracy at home and abroad. https://t.co/USxPn34Wqh

While Ukraine is certainly outsized by the Russian military, most of its major cities—including Kyiv, its capital—remain under Ukrainian control despite heavy fire from Russia.
