In a viral clip posted to TikTok by IGN, Margot Robbie revealed how Barbie was a trailblazer for feminism, and her reasoning is on point.
In the video, Robbie - sitting next to her costar, Ryan Gosling (he's just Ken) - explained:
"Barbie went to the moon before women were allowed credit cards."
"And... Barbie did all this stuff at a time when they could not have any financial autonomy in their lives."
She continued:
"... Surely that infiltrated our collective mind in some way, and made us go, 'Hmmm.'"
"I want a dream house. I want my own house. I want my own car."
"I want to do whatever job I want to do."
Robbie finished her thought:
"Anyway, that got deep."
She then asked Gosling if he had a "quick, fun" response to which he replied:
"No. That was amazing."

Others expressed their dismay upon realizing it wasn't too long ago women gained these rights, either.

And, of course, a few had a chuckle at Gosling's response, which was "so Ken."
