After the country star opened up on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' about bringing her 4-year-old son to a family-friendly drag show, she clapped back at critics on Instagram who questioned her parenting.

Maren Morris appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday, and talked with the host about bringing her son to a family-friendly drag show.

And, as they always do, some right-wing pearl clutchers condemned her for it.

But the outspoken LGBTQ+ ally took to her Instagram stories to shut down critics, putting them in their rightful place.

During the episode, the country star told host Clarkson that she brought her son to the Love Rising concert in Bridgestone last year where she was performing. The event was in response to the recent anti-trans legislation in Tennessee at the time.

She said:

"It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly."
“We were doing a benefit at Bridgestone last year when they were doing the drag ban in Tennessee.”

Morris shared that she, Hozier and countless other talents were performing, and there were drag performances throughout the event, as well.

“One actually danced with me when I was singing my song ‘The Middle.’"
"It was amazing and fun, and my son loves watching me sit in the makeup chair and is just fascinated with the colors, so it was completely harmless."
"It is just an amazing expression of artistry. So, I think normalizing it and making it seem like these are just people that love dressing up too is an amazing thing.”

This bit of information did not sit well with some, but Morris publicly called out her judgmental critics on social media.

She first posted a screenshot to her Instagram stories that read:

"Enough with taking children to drag shows!"
"What the hell is wrong with people. Children are sweet and innocent and don't need sexual anything rubbed in their little faces."

The person also condemned Clarkson for agreeing with Morris' view of drag performances before adding:

"The world has gone crazy!"

Morris added her own text to the comment, writing:

“Ok this ‘save the children’ plea always seems to distract from what we’re actually talking about."

The "My Church" singer then added another story:

“If you’re making the ‘exposure to children’ argument, there are a lot of gowns in Catholicism, makeup and powdered wigs in theatre historically worn by only men, 'Mrs. Doubtfire' that charmed our childhoods
 the list goes endlessly on."
“Drag is centuries-long performance art and some drag is only for adults."
"The performance I referenced in this interview was a charity all-ages show to protest the unlawful drag ban in Tennessee that was rightfully overturned.”

That's right, the ban was overturned. 👏👏👏

People on social media applauded Morris for calling out the critics.

People Break Down The 'Silent Red Flags' Folks Tend To Ignore In Relationships

A red flag has come to mean any warning sign in life, in addition to the literal red flags that are placed on beaches or industrial sites to warn people of danger.

People will respond to situations by saying, "That’s a red flag." But before that language evolved, they'd just call them "warning signs."
