After being fired from Disney's The Mandalorian over anti-Semitic, transphobic, and pandemic-denying tweets, Gina Carano announced she signed on to do a conservative film with Ben Shapiro and Daily Wire.

When speaking to Deadline, Carano took direct aim at "cancel culture" and "the totalitarian mob."

"The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams—to develop and produce my own film—come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered."
"I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice, which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same."
"They can't cancel us if we don't let them."

The statement got quite the reaction from Twitter.

Key details are not available yet, but Carano announced she will produce, star in and develop the film.

It is likely to have a minimal audience at first as the project will only be released to The Daily Wire members. The company is hoping Carano's project will encourage people to join their website.

Shapiro even offered a discount code.

Ben Shapiro has high hopes for the partnership, essentially claiming he wants to make a conservative version of the entertainment industry.

Oh, also he made a statement comparing conservatives to the Rebel Alliance prepping to take down the Death Star of Hollywood.

"We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left."
"This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob."
"We're eager to bring Gina's talent to Americans who love her, and we're just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep cancelling those who think differently, they'll just be helping us build the Xwing to take down their Death Star."

Which is particularly interesting when public opinion looks like:

People don't seem to have much hope for the project considering Shapiro's history as a failed screenwriter despite having extensive family connections in the industry.

Gina's notoriously "troubled" acting skills also have people doubtful of success. Carano is an incredible athlete and often cast for her athletic prowess, but has repeatedly had her lines shortened, cut and even dubbed over by other actresses.

There are ... concerns.

"Hoo boy" seems to sum up the public response pretty well.
