'Mandalorian' Fans Are Begging Disney To Recast Gina Carano's Role With Lucy Lawless, And Hell Yes

'Mandalorian' Fans Are Begging Disney To Recast Gina Carano's Role With Lucy Lawless, And Hell Yes

The Gina Carano saga continues.

After Lucasfilm and Disney+ revealed they fired Gina Carano from her role in The Mandalorian for her "abhorrent" social media posts, the fate of Carano's character, Cara Dune, remains uncertain.

Dune was going to possibly be the center of several spin-off shows as well as being carried through season 3 of The Mandalorian. While Lucasfilm has not officially announced whether Dune will be re-cast or written out of the Star Wars universe completely, fans have another idea in mind.

And it's a brilliant one.

Lucy Lawless, who is best known for her run as Xena in the 90s hit television series Xena, Warrior Princess, immediately came to mind.

Now fans are all on board.

The New Zealand actress has had a steady career since Xena ended in 2001, appearing in everything from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica to Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

Lawless herself weighed in on Dune's role becoming "open" for her in the show.

God's Not Dead is a trio of films depicting a supposed anti-Christian agenda in the United States and have been called a "persecution complex" by media like Vox.

"The thesis of the God's Not Dead series is that Christians and Christianity are under attack in America, and that the way to fight back is through exercising First Amendment rights, mostly in educational settings...The problem isn't really the production value (which is mostly fine), or even the statement in the title, a contradiction of a willful misreading of Nietzsche that's so generic and bland that few people would find it offensive."

The themes of the film echo the far-right's problem with Gina Carano being fired from The Mandalorian.

Lucy Lawless, though a wonderful suggestion, isn't the only one fans have floated.

Some have suggested Once Upon A Time's Lana Parilla and The Flight Attendant and Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina's Michelle Gomez as possible replacements.

This is one time we hope Disney listens to its fans.

Louisiana Republican Senator Bill Cassidy was widely mocked following his inconvenient slip of the tongue during a CNBC interview as he mused about finding ways to "cut" Medicare before quickly correcting himself.

GOP Senator Gets Blunt Reality Check After Comparing Trump Tariff 'Pain' To Home Renovation

Montana Republican Senator Tim Sheehy was criticized after he tried to compare the "short-term pain" of President Donald Trump's tariffs to home renovation, a claim so ridiculous that CNN's Kaitlan Collins quickly pushed back on the analogy.

Trump has repeatedly referred to April 2 as “Liberation Day,” pledging to impose tariffs—taxes on imports—to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign goods. He has framed these tariffs as “reciprocal,” aiming to match the duties other nations place on American exports.

Liberal Wisconsin Judge Calls Out Elon Musk In Victory Speech—And It's Everything

Liberal judge Susan Crawford called out billionaire Elon Musk in her victory speech after winning a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, basking in successfully beating her Republican opponent Brad Schimel and ensuring that the nonpartisan court’s narrow 4-3 liberal majority remains intact despite Musk's efforts to sway the race.

Musk fueled the high-stakes race, having poured more than $20 million into supporting Schimel, according to state campaign records. That includes $3 million to the state Republican Party—$2 million of which was donated just last week. Due to state election laws, large contributions must be funneled through political parties before reaching candidates.
