A woman confronted a man at Jacksonville Beach in Florida after he apparently harassed her for wearing a swimsuit – which according to him was sacrilege.
In a viral video, TikTok user @.katie.simmons approached the man who was holding a sign that read, "God says Christian women dress modest," and asked him:
"Sir, it's a beach. Are we supposed to dress modest at a beach?"
"God doesn't want women—" he attempted to respond, but she immediately cut him off and told him:
"What if God's fake?"

The video was posted on July 18 and gained over 250,000 views and 47,000 likes.
People called out the man with the sign for his hypocrisy.

Others noted his misogyny.

Many disapproved of his unwarranted sermonizing in public.

The man's sign referred to the Bible passage 1 Timothy 2:9, which states:
"I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes."
TikTokers clarified the context of his misinterpretation.

The religious man's intentions remained questionable.

The video ended without hearing the man's response to Simmons' theory about the existence of God.
