Fans Are Convinced Macaulay Culkin Included Nod To 'Home Alone' In Birthday Tribute To His Fiancée

The actor wished a happy birthday to his partner, actor Brenda Song, on Wednesday on Instagram—but 'Home Alone' fans couldn't help but think a milk reference was a subtle nod to his most famous movie.

Hollywood legend Macaulay Culkin recently took to Instagram to wish his longtime partner and fiancée Brenda Song a happy birthday, as one does.

But fans of Culkin are sure he had something else entirely on his mind—the movie that put him on the map, 1990's Home Alone.

The post started off like any other heartfelt birthday message, with a photo of Song in her bathrobe with a bottle of champagne, and a lovely caption.

Culkin wrote:

"Happy birthday to the best friend, mother, ally, colleague, lover, and partner I could ever wish for. You are my reason. I love you."

But the second photo and post-script in the caption struck many fans as a cryptic reference. The photo was a carton of milk with an expiration date of March 27, 2024, the day of Song's birthday. In the caption, Culkin added:

"P. S. The milk is due. Can you pick some up on your way home from work?"

For most of us, this sounds like just a little joke about the domestic day-to-day. But fans of Home Alone were sure it was an inside joke.

Spilled milk, after all, is basically the catalyst of Home Alone and the misadventures of Culkin's main character, Kevin MacAllister.

During a family dinner, milk gets spilled all over Kevin's passport and airline tickets, and they accidentally get thrown in the trash while cleaning up.

This leads his huge family to miscount heads on the way to the airport the following day, hence not noticing that Kevin has been left behind.

Later in the film, Kevin goes grocery shopping on his own and buys—you guessed it—some milk. Along with a few other household necessities too, of course.

You can see that scene below.

It's a bit of a stretch—and one wonders why Culkin would make his fiancée's birthday all about a movie from nearly a quarter century ago.

But fans sure had a good time with it in Culkin's comments.

Whether it was a Home Alone reference or not, Culkin and Song surely had a happy celebration with their two sons together—hopefully without having to fight off any burglars.

Awkward Typo In Elon Musk's Bizarre 'Education Department' Trump Meme Is A Total Self-Own

Billionaire Elon Musk was widely mocked after he celebrated President Donald Trump's executive order to begin to dismantle the Department of Education (DOE) by posting a meme of Trump at the department's grave, only for an awkward misspelling to get all the attention.

Polling indicates that eliminating the Education Department is largely unpopular, with 60% of registered voters opposing the move, according to a Quinnipiac University survey conducted March 6-10. Support stands at 33%, with opposition particularly strong among Democrats—98% oppose it, while just 1% support it.

People Break Down How They Realized An Entire Industry Was A Total Scam

We unfortunately live in a world where scams are on the rise.

Thankfully, some of them are pretty easy to detect, such as an automated call from the IRS telling you a warrant is out for your arrest, or an email claiming to be from Amazon or the USPS asking for your credit card information, only to look closer and see the email address is a yahoo account.
