The Oscar winner has sparked rumors about a romantic relationship with the nonbinary 'Glass Onion' star ever since they became close friends after meeting in 2014.

Lupita Nyong'o is "not surprised" and also not mad about speculation she has been romantically linked to singer and actor Janelle Monáe.

While talking to Rolling Stone about Monáe for a feature on the nonbinary artist, Nyong'o shared of the relationship rumors:

"She has magnetism that they were obviously picking up on."
"She is enigmatic. People are curious about enigmatic people."
"I was not surprised."
"And I don't mind being associated with her in any capacity.

Nyong'o revealed the two first met at the 2014 Met Gala after Nyong'o's Oscar-winning performance in 12 Years a Slave.

She told Rolling Stone:

“This world is still extremely new to me and unbelievable. [Monáe] came up to me and just gave me the realest hug."
"I think we may have swayed to the music. She was just like, ‘I’m so proud of you, and just thank you for being you'."
"At some point, [Monáe] asked me for my phone, put her number in, and said, ‘Let’s stay in touch.’ She was like, ‘I really mean it. If you need anything, I’m here for you'.”

People on social media commended Nyong'o for her insightful response.

And several commented the duo together in any capacity is 🔥.

Nyong'o also told Rolling Stone while the two are close, she doesn't "know" all about Monáe.

"Just because you're a close friend of hers doesn't mean you get to know everything about her."
"I think that's what makes her interesting as an artist."

It seems as if that's intentional, as Monáe told the magazine:

"I have a policy and agreement with myself that is a part of my life that I want to keep private."
"I can talk about my identity, I can talk about my sexuality, I can talk about all things Janelle Monáe without having to go into detail."
"You know what I mean? It's not necessary."

AOC Has Mic Drop Response To MAGA Republicans Who Try To Mock 'Democratic Priorities'

New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a powerful rebuke against President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, pointing out why mocking things like affordable housing and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as "Democrat priorities" ultimately hurts Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez, speaking during a CNN town hall alongside Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, accused Republicans of refusing to work to end the government shutdown, stressing that the country’s health care system could collapse if Republicans refuse to meet Democrats’ demands in negotiations.

GOP Rep. Blames Coordinated 'Ruse' After Swastika Image Is Seen Displayed In His Office

Ohio Republican Representative Dave Taylor demanded an investigation after a swastika image was found on display in his Washington, D.C., office, and blamed it on a "targeted" "ruse."

Politico obtained a photo from a virtual meeting showing a distorted image of the American flag—its red and white lines altered into the shape of a swastika— pinned to what appears to be a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, a staffer for Taylor. Beside it hung a pocket Constitution and a congressional calendar. Elia’s involvement in the incident, if any, remains unclear.
