Actor Luke Perry passed away in March, leaving behind a legacy in his accumulated work and his loving family.
His daughter, Sophie Perry, opened up on Instagram about her father's passing, and the unique way he decided to be buried.
Perry, as per his wishes, was buried in a biodegradable mushroom suit.
His daughter described the suit as "genius" and said it was "an eco-friendly burial option via mushrooms."
In her post, Sophie wrote:
"Any explanation i give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco friendly burial option via mushrooms. All i can say is that you should all look into them at coeio.com or just by googling 'mushroom burial suit'."
"My dad discovered it, and was more excited by this than I have ever seen him. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes. They are truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet, and I want to share it with all of you."
Coeio described the suit on their website as a product made to filter the polluting toxins out of a person's body while breaking it down to "reunite the body with the earth and the ongoing cycle of life."
Twitter was intrigued by Perry's choice of burial method:
Sophie, who was in Africa at the time of her father's fatal stroke, recently announced that she will be opening a pre-school in Malawi named after the late actor.
Perry was likely buried in a family cemetery at his farm in Vanleer, Tennessee.
Given enough time, he will be returned to the earth, as he always wanted.
