Brittany Wright of Dallas, TX and Tyler Tipps of Oregon met at a leadership conference in Seattle, WA in July 2017. They hit it off immediately and became friends, partially bonding over both being in bad marriages. Neither of them suspected that they would both be single by the end of the conference, though.
Of their meeting, Wright told Inside Edition:
"We instantly had gravitated to each other because of our personalities. It was strictly a friendship and really just opened up with each other. We were both married and both in bad marriages and confided in each other because we both understood."
Wright had been texting back and forth with her husband during the conference, and received a final text from him on the last day:
"I want a divorce."
Shortly after, Tipps called her with some surprising news:
"A couple hours later Tyler called and said, 'My wife's gone, she packed up all her stuff and left.' I could hear he was just devastated. And I told him if it made him feel any better I am moving out when I get home."
Throughout the business of their divorces, Wright and Tipps stayed in contact, supporting each other through the difficult process.
Both divorces were finalized in January of 2018, and Tipps proposed to Wright soon after:
"I was more hesitant tell everybody because I had just gotten divorced. I felt terrified. I thought people were going to judge me, but I knew that's what I wanted."
As if the timing of Wright and Tipps' meeting wasn't perfect enough, soon after he proposed, Tipps' boss asked him if he would consider taking a position in Dallas, TX.
Tipps said:
"All of the stars aligned, everything happened for a reason, and it was perfect."
Wright commented on the timing as well:
"I was like this has to be a sign from God because we weren't really talking about moving. We were just going to be engaged and do long distance for a while. This is something that just has to be meant to be."

Wright also talked about the changes in their lives, and how everything has worked out for the better.
"When I met Tyler I remember coming back from the weekend and telling my coworker that I met that man that I always going to marry. For us it was timing, it was definitely not our plan. It was all good changes, but it really threw us for a loop because our whole entire world changed. It all changed for the better. We're happily married."
Facebook users were quick to offer their congratulations.

Wright and Tipps being left by their spouses on the same day was a huge and unfortunate coincidence. The couple have helped each other through hardship, and are working to make each other happy.
