People Explain Which Laws They Wish They Could Abolish

It can be shocking, almost repulsive, to look through history books and read the things which were actually laws at one point in time.

These include bizarre ones, like a national speed limit of 55 miles per hour due to an oil shortage, as well as historically inhumane laws, such as segregation and slavery.

Thankfully, many of these horrifying and/or bizarre laws have been repealed.

But if one were to look closely at laws around the world, there are still a number of ludicrous and terrifying laws which remain in effect.

That many people might even, rather ironically, think should be illegal.

Redditor chewysnacc was curious to hear which laws people wish they could abolish if they had the power, leading them to ask:
"If you could remove a law, which one would get the boot?"

It doesn't take very long at all for certain laws to become outdated.

Making it all the more infuriating that these laws remain in effect.

Particularly when they likely shouldn't even have been made laws in the first place.

Trump's Dismissive Reaction To Concerns About Insider Trading Amid His War With Iran Speaks Infuriating Volumes

In an article for CounterPunch titled "Trump’s Casino Royale: The Iran War," Matthew Stevenson wrote:

"Given that Donald Trump conceives of the presidency as a casino—why else would he be trying to makeover the White House to look like the Bellagio?—it makes sense that his administration has turned the war with Iran into an insider-trading scheme."
"It used to be that wars were fought to make 'the world safe for democracy' or 'to end all wars' (a World War I expression), but now wars are fought so that Trump insiders can get rich quick in prediction markets or to help the president’s family (and its remittance men) corner the Persian Gulf oil market."

Pointing out who is profiting off inflating oil prices and creating false scarcity, Stevenson added:
