Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema Sparks Controversy After Wearing 'F**k Off' Ring

Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema Sparks Controversy After Wearing 'F**k Off' Ring

In March, Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona was heavily criticized by members of her own party for voting against a $15 minimum wage with a cute curtsy and thumbs down.

Now, a month later, Sinema is once again facing harsh backlash from the left after posting a photo of herself sipping what appears to be sangria and wearing a ring that says "F*ck Off."

Many online read the photo as Sinema's response to her many constituents who expressed frustration when she helped kill the $15 minimum wage movement.

Twitter was quick to mock Sinema's legislative style, which seemed to prioritize fashion over meaningful action.

Sinema voted against the $15 minimum wage in March while drafting an $11 minimum wage bill alongside Republican Mitt Romney of Utah.

The minimum wage in her home state of Arizona is $12.

If there's one thing Twitter is slow to forgive, it's apathy in the face of suffering.

Sinema has also sparked backlash from the left by refusing to support fillibuster reform, telling The Wall Street Journal:

"When you have a place that's broken and not working, and many would say that's the Senate today, I don't think the solution is to erode the rules. I think the solution is for senators to change their behavior and begin to work together, which is what the country wants us to do."

Arizona has proven itself a reliably purple state in recent years, but Sinema would likely do well to remember which party voted her into office.
