Yet another entitled celebrity who was born with a silver spoon in their mouth is offering work advice to regular folk.
Kim Kardashian is facing backlash after statements that echo the opinion many of society’s elite seem to have on working people.
As reported by Buzzfeed, in a short clip of an interview with Variety Kardashian offered this advice to women in business:
“I have the best advice for women in business: "
"Get your f*cking ass up and work."
"It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
Kardashian was joined by her sisters Khloe, Kourtney and her mother Kris, who all nodded in agreement with her statement.
Her comments come at a time in history where the wealth gap is glaringly clear, and workers around the world have come to the collective realization they are being overworked, poorly treated, and underpaid.
For women specifically, Bloomberg Equality released results of a global study that found women spent an additional 173 hours working unpaid child care in 2021 compared to 59 additional hours by men. Those extra work hours only apply however to people who don't have full-time staffs of housekeepers, nannys, chefs, personal assistants, etc...
Kardashian went on to say:
"You have to surround yourself with people that want to work"
"Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do, because you have one life. No toxic work environments."
People were not impressed by her "wisdom" and voiced their displeasure on Twitter.

They pointed out that Kardashian was born wealthier than most, and so had a leg up when it came to starting her business empire:

Wow, this is really something, coming from someone who has benefitted greatly from privilege and generational wealth. If hard work was all it took to get ahead, all of the janitors and retail/childcare workers in my family would be rich. #KimKardashianhttps://twitter.com/Variety/status/1501611270843166720 …— Bobbi Dempsey (@Bobbi Dempsey) 1646950394

She never had to face the hardships and disadvantages that average working class woman does:
#kimkardashian A woman with real business sense uplifts, and inspires. Most business women are WORKING 24 hour jobs caring for their kids-no nanny, cooking - no chef, cleaning house -no housekeeper, running errands- no personal assistant & running a business.-educate yourself Kimhttps://twitter.com/variety/status/1501611270843166720 …— TangelaRichh (@TangelaRichh) 1646962587

Some users felt that these comments were so out of touch and outrageous, that it must be another Kardashian publicity stunt:
The Kim Kardashian playbook:

1. Say or do something outrageous
2. Have everyone hate you and talk about you for a week
3. After a week, people stop hating you.
4. After a week, people still remember your name.

Depressing that it works, but it does.https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1501611270843166720 …— Seena_Makari (@Seena_Makari) 1646963672

The reality is it is nearly impossible for someone to simply work their way into great wealth.
People can work multiple jobs and still live paycheck to paycheck or be homeless.
Generational wealth is a major factor when it comes to most of the millionaires and billionaires who exist today.
