Kidz Bop's Hilariously Wholesome Lyric Changes To Lil Nas X's 'Montero' Have The Internet LOLing

Music star Lil Nas X's work is some of the most audacious, ear-wormy stuff out there nowadays... but it's not exactly what you'd call "family-friendly."

Enter Kidz Bop, the long-running series of popular music covers "for and by kids," who just dropped their version of Lil Nas X's hit "Montero."

But how do you even make a song as, um, adult as "Montero" kid-friendly?

Well Kidz Bop certainly tried.

The results have the internet screaming with laughter.

Hear the revised tune below.

Kidz Bop's take on "Montero" has been hotly anticipated by people eager to see how on Earth they would tackle a song about cocaine and gay sex—including Lil Nas X himself who had a good laugh on Twitter about Kidz Bop's announcement of the song earlier this month.

But no one was prepared for how hilarious the finished product would be.

Not even their overhaul of Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda"—hilariously rewritten to be about actual snakes—holds a candle to it.

Take for instance, Lil Nas X's fairly graphic verse:

"I wanna sell what you're buying / I wanna feel on yo' ass in Hawaii / I want that jet lag from f*cking and flying / Shoot a child in your mouth while I'm riding."

Where to even begin?

Well, if you're Kidz Bop, you just make it about having dinner on vacation.

Or something?

"I wanna sell what you're buyin' / I wanna lie on the beach in Hawaii / I want that jet lag from livin' and flyin' / Put a smile on your face while we're dining'."

Okay, sure...

Giphy

Hats off, Kidz Bop.

The Kidz Bop version is so deliciously ludicrous from start to finish that when Lil Nas X himself posted about it on Twitter, he just posted a screenshot of the lyrics with no comment whatsoever.

There's not really much else to say, is there.

Of course, Twitter being Twitter, they found the words and people roasted Kidz Bop to a hilarious crisp.

The Kidz Bop "Montero" fun doesn't stop here.

There's also a music video coming soon as well.

It'll be interesting to see their take on that whole having-gay-sex-with-Satan part.

Obama Offers Iconic Reaction After He Accidentally Photobombed A Family's Photos In DC

If you try to take nice pictures in a scenic location, there will likely be people wandering through the background of your photos, because everyone else will also be enjoying the scenery.

In most cases, people try to time the shots between passersby or edit them out afterwards, but after a photoshoot in Washington D.C., one family will definitely not be editing out the accidental guest walking among the cherry blossoms and the Washington Monument.

Historical 'Facts' People Learned In School That Are Actually Not True

The phrase "history is written by the victors" is a common saying. It's often attributed to Winston Churchill, although there's no proof he said those exact words.

It points out that those who win conflicts shape how those events are remembered, recorded, and taught to future generations, leading to biased historical accounts and warped perceptions.

People Who Clinically Died And Came Back To Life Share Their Experiences

We've all heard the questions about what happens when we die, whether there is life after death, and whether we really will walk through a tunnel of white light or not to get there.

But people who have had a near-death experience, in that they were declared clinically dead and were then resuscitated, might have the answers we're looking for, and their answers are quite peaceful.
