Singer-songwriter Khalid opened up about his sexuality in a series of candid tweets in response to being "outed" by fellow musician Hugo D Almonte, who implied they'd been in a relationship.

In a follow-up tweet, Khalid shared why he felt the need to address his sexuality:

"I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me [heart emoji] love yall."

He was also quick to point out in a response to another follower that he "wasn't hiding anything" but that his sexuality is "just not any of your business."

Khalid later spoke to Vulture about his decision to publicly speak about his sexuality, saying his tweets were a response to now-deleted tweets fromfellow singer Hugo D Almonte, who implied he and Khalid had been in a relationship at one point.

Almonte allegedly posted on X that he had ended things with a “dumb ass singer” who had falsely accused him of breaking into their home.

The situation intensified when Almonte, in another since-deleted tweet, shared a photo of himself with Khalid, captioned: “Bitch ass lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

In his own remarks to Vulture, Almonte claimed he “never” meant to “out someone who’s clearly been out already in the community in Los Angeles.” Almonte said his “intentions” were to “share my story and share how [Khalid] tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship, he was afraid of what I might say.”

Many have praised Khalid for coming out regardless of the circumstances.

Khalid's third album, the critically acclaimed Sincere, was released earlier this year.

GOP Senator Gets Blunt Reality Check After Comparing Trump Tariff 'Pain' To Home Renovation

Montana Republican Senator Tim Sheehy was criticized after he tried to compare the "short-term pain" of President Donald Trump's tariffs to home renovation, a claim so ridiculous that CNN's Kaitlan Collins quickly pushed back on the analogy.

Trump has repeatedly referred to April 2 as “Liberation Day,” pledging to impose tariffs—taxes on imports—to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign goods. He has framed these tariffs as “reciprocal,” aiming to match the duties other nations place on American exports.

Liberal Wisconsin Judge Calls Out Elon Musk In Victory Speech—And It's Everything

Liberal judge Susan Crawford called out billionaire Elon Musk in her victory speech after winning a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, basking in successfully beating her Republican opponent Brad Schimel and ensuring that the nonpartisan court’s narrow 4-3 liberal majority remains intact despite Musk's efforts to sway the race.

Musk fueled the high-stakes race, having poured more than $20 million into supporting Schimel, according to state campaign records. That includes $3 million to the state Republican Party—$2 million of which was donated just last week. Due to state election laws, large contributions must be funneled through political parties before reaching candidates.
