After sharing a now-deleted video from behind the scenes of her upcoming film 'Stolen Girl,' the actor responded to a cruel comment about her appearance, noting that she is just 'trying to survive' amid several family and health issues.

Actor Kate Beckinsale didn't hold back when trolls shared their negative opinion about her body image.

The 50-year-old star of the Underworld films had posted a behind-the-scenes video from her upcoming movie Stolen Girl.

The now-deleted post featured a montage video of the starlet from her on-set makeup trailer, playfully modeling different outfits, including a form-fitting black gown and another in a loose-fitted silk top with tight denim shorts and goth boots.

Social media users shared screenshots before the post was removed.

One of the comments was from an observer who claimed Beckinsale's appearance looked concerningly "thin".

It read:

"Sorry to say this Kate, [are you though?] but you do look a bit thin."
"You always striked [sic] a great balance.. But when your cheekbones start to show, the balance is lost.."

Two teary-faced emojis followed the unsolicited evaluation.

Another wrote:

"Please eat something. I love you, I’m very worried with your skinny look."

Beckinsale was not about to let those comments slide.

In response to the judgments about her appearance, she opened up about how various traumas have rocked her life.

She mentioned emotional hardships stemming from the grief of losing two fathers, one when she was five and the other when she lost her stepfather this January.

The actor also said she lost her "soulmate cat of almost 19 years" last year.

She added that she recently spent six weeks in the hospital after "vomiting blood" due to a Mallory-Weiss tear.

A Mallory-Weiss tear is a condition that affects the esophagus, which carries food from the throat to the stomach and plays a vital role in digestion. Tissue in the lower esophagus can tear and bleed as a result of violent coughing or vomiting.

Some of the comments about her looking "skinny" were in response to a photo of herself in the hospital when she was ailing.

Beckinsale continued:

"At the same time I experienced a severe flair of my mast cell disease, also mitigated by stress, shock, and grief."
"That's what I am prepared to disclose that has contributed to some weight loss."
"What you think of my appearance and how I should look, independently of any circumstances in my life and my family's, is not important."

The actor said she was still dealing with the "unbearable losses" in her life" in addition to processing the recurring trauma from discovering her young father's "almost dead body as a very young child alone in the night" while working to support the family she had left.

Beckinsale addressed the online cattiness, saying:

"The fact you fancy girls who are heavier than I am does not feature in things that are important or relevant."
"The fact you feel your opinion is required to bully females about their appearance is relevant to me because it needs to stop feeling like it is your, or anyone's right."

"I don't care what your taste in women is," she asserted, adding, "I care that you think any of us need to be apprised of it."

She concluded the post with:

"I will not address this again. Do better."

Fans jumped to Beckinsale's defense.

Stolen Girl is a kidnapping drama directed by British filmmaker James Kent.

The fictional premise is inspired by the true story of Maureen Dabbagh, "a woman from Virginia whose ex-husband stole their two-year-old daughter and took her to the Middle East in 1992," according to the film's synopsis.

She spends over ten years "searching for her daughter, one of 1,000 children illegally abducted from the US each year, before finally finding her."

Pre-production on the film began in April in Southern Italy’s Puglia region.
