Kacey Musgraves is getting the very, very last laugh after a fan insulted her on Twitter nearly five years ago.
Musgraves posted on Instagram a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt featuring both the mean tweet and her wildly viral response to it back in November of 2019.
Better yet—she's selling the t-shirts too, making money off of the person's rudeness. Well played, Ms. Musgraves.

The shirt is a black tee emblazoned with the Twitter conversation, in which a fan told Musgraves:
"I liked your music but your personality seems sh*tty."
Rude! Oftentimes it seems like trolls like this don't expect stars to ever see their tweet, so they let it rip. But that is not what happened this time. Because Musgrave quote tweeted it, adding "it is," beating the troll at their own game.
The tweet went wildly viral back in 2019, racking up more than 26,000 retweets and hundreds of thousands of likes. It's still up today, though the troll has since wisely deleted their part of the conversation.
In her Instagram post of herself wearing the shirt, Musgraves pithily captioned herself "stay self-aware," which is excellent advice. Her fans loved the shirt so much they began asking her to sell it as official merch.
Days later, Musgraves let her fans know they'd been heard, and she's now selling the tweet-emblazoned t-shirts for $35. But not every fan is loving the idea.

When Musgraves announced the shirts on X, she got pushback from a fan who accused her of being "lazy" for charging $35 for "just a shirt with your tweet screen-printed on it." Musgraves had a perfect response to that, too
She joked that she was going to put that tweet on a t-shirt, too. Keep 'em coming, trolls!
Naturally, Musgraves' true fans on social media are absolutely loving the way she's repurposing her haters.
