JK Rowling Criticizes Trump Jr. Tweet About Socialism

Donald Trump Jr. took the opportunity on Halloween night to illustrate a point about Socialism using a photo of his daughter Chloe and her bucket of Halloween candy.

In the tweet, Trump Jr. said: "I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism."

The post was instantly pounced upon by Twitter users for its misinformation:

And there were plenty who cried foul, considering Trump Jr.'s inherited wealth:

People felt like there were probably better lessons that Trump Jr. could teach his daughter than "Socialism is bad:"

One the voices added to the fray was that of Harry Potter author and Twitter clapback queen J.K. Rowling, who slammed Trump Jr.'s faulty logic, saying: "Fill her bucket with old candy left by her great-grandfather, then explain that she has more because she's smarter than all the other kids."

Twitter users agreed with Rowling's sentiments:

Overall, it was a pretty rough Halloween for the Trump family. Not only was Ivanka Trump's birthday ruined by the indictments of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates in the Russia probe, as well as the confession by George Papadopolous that he lied to the F.B.I., and his subsequent plea deal, but President Trump also had an awkward run-in with a kid dressed as a T-Rex during a Monday trick-or-treating event held at the White House.

So, the backlash against Trump Jr. was just one of several low points for the First Family's Halloween week.

And clearly Rowling has no problem taking on Twitter trolls, the Trumps, or anyone who crosses her, as she's shown time and time again.

Besides a much-needed class on Socialism, perhaps Trump Jr. can credit the Twitter take-down as part of his education, because he certainly got schooled.
