'Jeopardy!' Contestant Becomes Internet Hero After His Subtle Display Of Bisexual Pride

'Jeopardy!' Contestant Becomes Internet Hero After His Subtle Display Of Bisexual Pride
CBS

Cody Lawrence—a contestant on Jeopardy!—is being praised for showing a little bit of LGBTQ+ pride during his appearance on the long running show. The episode was taped prior to the passing of beloved host, Alex Trebek.

Fans were thrilled when they noticed something about Lawrence's outfit. He wore a nice dark suit jacket, which made the bisexual pride pin affixed to his lapel stand out even more clearly.

Lawrence had this to say on Twitter:

Lawrence decided to use this platform to talk about bisexual erasure in the LGBTQ+ community.

GLAAD describes bisexual erasure as:

"... a pervasive problem in which the existence or legitimacy of bisexuality (either in general or in regard to an individual) is questioned or denied outright."
"For example, two married women might spend time in community spaces dominated by lesbians. Perhaps one of the women is bisexual and objects to the assumption that she is a lesbian (i.e., when others call the two women a 'lesbian couple')."
"However, every time she mentions this, others insist that she can't really be bisexual or that her orientation doesn't matter (perhaps with the subtext that she shouldn't talk about it) now that she is partnered."

So, naturally, people were thrilled by the representation.

People were grateful for Lawrence's small bit of activism.

While Lawrence did not ultimately win this episode of Jeopardy!, his appearance was a win for bisexual representation on television.

Someone Flew A 'Trump Country' Banner Over Bernie And AOC's Packed Rally—And AOC Clapped Back Hard

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had the perfect response after one of President Donald Trump's supporters flew a banner reading "Folsom Is Trump Country" over a Northern California rally she held with her colleague, Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders.

She brushed off a warning that they were entering “Trump country” as the crowd swelled in deep-red Folsom, a Republican stronghold nestled in Representative Kevin Kiley’s district. Just to drive the point home, a small plane buzzed above the rally, trailing a banner in bold red letters: “Folsom Is Trump Country.”

MAGA Senator Gets An Earful From Angry Constituents During Iowa Town Hall—And It's Pure Fire

Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley was criticized by his "pissed" constituents during a town hall in Fort Madison this week who demanded why he hasn’t taken stronger action to hold President Donald Trump and his administration accountable as tensions escalate with the Supreme Court.

Those in attendance were galvanized by the Trump administration’s refusal to comply with a unanimous Supreme Court order instructing the White House to “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Garcia was mistakenly deported to a prison in El Salvador known for its reputation for torture.
