'Jeopardy!' Constestant Makes Accidental Dirty Gesture—And Becomes An Instant Icon

Mira Hayward meant to make an innocent hand gesture for 0s after she and her fellow contestants all wagered nothing during 'Final Jeopardy,' but it ended up looking at lot dirtier than she intended.

This Jeopardy! contestant became an instant meme after accidentally making a dirty hand gesture when revealing her 'Final Jeopardy' wager.

If you responded in the form of the question, "Who is Mira Hayward?" you would be correct.


It all went down at the end of the first quarterfinal of the Winter 2024 Champions Wildcard Competition this week, when the three contestants—Jesse Chin, an accounting director from Bayside, New York; Kate Campolieta, a corporate communications specialist from Simsbury, Connecticut; and Mira Hayward, a podcast host from Portland, Oregon—were awaiting the delivery of Hayward's response.

The clue from the category "World Flags" read:

“The flag of this Asian nation features part of a World Heritage Site built in the 12th century.”

Hayward, who was in the lead, wrote the correct response:

"What is Cambodia?"

And just like the two contestants before her, Hayward revealed she wagered nothing, marking possibly the first time all three contestants went for $0 in 'Final Jeopardy.'

And while that and Hayward's win were both remarkable show moments, sadly she may be remembered for something entirely different.

You see, Hayward was highly entertained by the fact that both Chin and Campolieta risked nothing and couldn't wait to share that she, too, wrote down $0 for her wager.

But her innocent way of showing the contestants on either side of her that she wagered the same by making zeroes with her hands and moving them side to side near her face stole the hearts and dirty minds of viewers everywhere.

Needless to say, there were several Daily umm...."Double" jokes floating around.



And within the day, Hayward was famous for unintentionally ripping a page straight from a Shake Weight ad.





Well, Hayward may not be able to live this moment down anytime soon, but at least she walked away from the show a winner and $16,400 richer.
