Karine Jean-Pierre Shuts Down Doocy For Trying To Tout Jeff Bezos As An Expert In Economics

Karine Jean-Pierre Shuts Down Doocy For Trying To Tout Jeff Bezos As An Expert In Economics

In a perfect and oh so professional clapback, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shut down Fox reporter Peter Doocy during a press briefing on Monday after he suggested President Joe Biden should consider insight from Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.

Doocy brought up the following statement by President Biden, who said:

“You want to bring down inflation? Let’s make sure the wealthiest corporations pay their fair share.”

He then brought up Bezos's tweet response to the President, saying:

“Jeff Bezos came out and tweeted about that. He said, ‘The newly created disinformation board should review this tweet.'"
"Would you be okay with that?”

Not letting Doocy steer the conversation off course, Jean Pierre said:

“Look, it’s not a huge mystery why one of the wealthiest individuals on Earth — right? — opposes an economic agenda that is for the middle class that cuts some of the biggest costs families face, fights inflation for the long haul, right?"
"That's why we're talking about lowering inflation here."

She continued on, saying that Biden's plan "adds to the historic deficit reduction the President is achieving by asking the richest taxpayers and corporations to pay their fair share."

"That is what we're talking about."

The newly minted press secretary then swiftly moved on. The theme of the discussion was resolutions to inflation, a problem that the right loves to blame on government spending. But President Biden's plan attacks the issue from another major source: tax policy, which causes many on the right to get bent out of shape.

Those watching found the back and forth to be entertaining.

"No longer Psaking a Doocy - now we’re Pierring a Doocy."

Another person said of the exchange:

"So Jen would say 'well circle back to that' when Doocy would beer off topic into conspiracy theories, Karine reiterates what the topic at hand actually is."
"Both effective, but Karine's is definitely giving Doocy that teacher-who-didn't-put-up-with-him flashback."
"Love it."

People were happy to see that Jen Psaki's departure did not mean the end of dunking on Doocy:

Jean-Pierre is the first open LGBTQ+ person and black woman to hold the position of White House Press Secretary.

In advance of Monday's briefing, some were already predicting her epic performance.

"I am going to miss Jen Psaki dunking on Peter Doocy, but I cannot wait to see Karine Jean Pierre dunk on Doocy."

"Anyone else looking forward to Karine Jean-Pierre's first takedown of Peter Doocy?"

The press secretary, of course, paid no mind to Doocy's irrelevant question about the Department of Homeland Security newly created disinformation board, specifically tasked with attacking foreign misinformation.

Yazzie, in a speech at last year's annual Socialism Conference, said "decolonization is the only thing that is going to save us as a species" during a panel hosted by Red Nation, a Native American nonprofit that advocates for Palestinian and Native American rights. She also said that the United States is the "greatest predator empire that has ever existed" and said it should be dismantled.
