The Oscar winner was spotted cruising down the Chicago River on Sunday after previously suffering a 'medical complication' earlier this year.

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx was seen waving to onlookers from a boat on the Chicago River on Sunday.

It was presumably the Ray actor's first public appearance since being hospitalized earlier this year after suffering from what his family described as a “medical complication.”

TMZ shared the video demonstrating that Foxx's road to recovery seemed to be "going very well, 'cause the guy's out and about in public now."

The footage showed Foxx cruising by on a mega boat "looking pretty vibrant, and happy to see fans as well" and waving back to passengers cheering at him from another vessel sailing by.

Here is the clip obtained by TMZ.

Fans were happy to see him.

Foxx was hospitalized back in May while filming the Netflix action comedyBack in Action in Georgia, also starring Cameron Diaz.

Production on Back in Action wrapped while Foxx was hospitalized. His stunt and body doubles filled in for him on set in his absence.

On April 12, his daughter Corinne Foxx spoke on behalf of the family and broke the news about the medical emergency.

She explained:

“We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday."
"Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery."
"We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Corinne–who with her dad hosted the Fox game show Beat Shazam–updated fans in May about her father's recovery status on her Instagram story, saying he was "recuperating" and had been "out of the hospital for weeks."

“In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” she added.

“Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Details surrounding Foxx's hospitalization remain fuzzy.

Speculation about his health spiraled out of control, with some gossip sites spreading misinformation and even suggesting Foxx's family was “preparing for the worst.”

It's a relief that he was seen out and about and in good spirits over the weekend after being absent from the public eye for so long.
