Ivanka Trump Tried To 'Clarify' The U.N. Breastfeeding Initiative Debacle On Twitter—But The Twitterverse Was Having None Of It

The Trumps have a way of twisting words, and the American people are tired of it. This was perfectly exemplified in a series of events that led to Twitter absolutely destroying the discord that Ivanka Trump was trying to spread with a tweet on Monday, July 23rd.

Ivanka shared an op-ed piece that said that the Trump administration fully endorses breastfeeding. The piece was written by Brett Giroir, an assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, and Alma Golden, a deputy assistant administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development, and shared by the Surgeon General.

However, the article has an ulterior motive.

According to The Huffington Post, The U.S. currently objects to sections of the breastfeeding resolution because it would take away the opportunity for formula companies to market overseas. At the World Health Assembly in May, the US Delegate opposed the breastfeeding initiative, which Ecuador planned to introduce. World health officials were totally stunned, as was Ecuador, who were threatened with loss of US military aid and tariffs if they moved forward with the resolution. Unexpectedly, Russia introduced it instead, and the measure passed intact.

This article was clearly written with this incident in mind. Moreover, it actually confirms that the U.S. objects to sections of the resolution restricting marketing of infant formula, as formula companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying the government.

It's already easy to doubt what Ivanka Trump is saying, but the layers of dishonesty here led Twitter to crucify her.

The quiet threat on Ecuador is possibly the most unsettling part of this. The United States seems to value its greed over the rights of other human beings, and will act and lash out by any means necessary to keep their money flowing.

Ivanka Trump has been silent on the issues of border detention of children. She also went radio silent on Pride month this year, after making it a point to acknowledge the LGBT community during pride month in 2017.

The Trump administration gets more sinister by the hour.

Democratic Senator Trolls Trump With Hilariously Petty Idea For What To Name Trump's Ballroom When He Leaves Office

Arizona Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego floated the idea to name the new White House ballroom after former President Barack Obama once President Donald Trump leaves office, pointing out it would incense the notoriously thin-skinned president.

Trump recently ordered the demolition of the entire East Wing to make way for a 90,000 square-foot ballroom that will dwarf the size of the White House itself, sparking alarm from historical preservationists and the public alike.
