Idaho Bar Slammed After Declaring June 'Heterosexual Awesomeness Month' To Protest Pride

Old State Saloon was hit with backlash after sharing a Facebook post announcing that they will be celebrating 'Heterosexual Awesomeness Month' for June.

Well, it's June, which means it's Pride Month, which means conservatives are in their feelings!

First up for this month, we have the Old State Saloon, an Idaho bar that has decided that straight people being able to live in peace 365 days a year without ever being criticized for existing is worthy of a month of celebration, too.

So at Old State Saloon, they'll be kicking up their straight heels this June for the cleverly named "Heterosexual Awesomeness Month." Watch out everyone, they got some wordsmiths out in Eagle, Idaho!

In a Facebook post, the bar wrote:

“Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here!”

Okay! Furthermore, each week will have heterosexuality-themed days to celebrate straight people.

"Each Monday will be Hetero Male Monday and any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will receive a free draft beer."

Neat! They are considering changing the name of the Monday events to "Beers for Breeders," however, so stay tuned on that one.

As for later in the week:

"Each Wednesday is Heterosexual couples day and each heterosexual couple will receive 15% off their bill."

Love that for them!

But don't expect any handouts just cuz you say you're straight. There will be adjudication of your heterosexuality involved, fellas.

In a comment, the bar wrote that they were seeking a "perfect judge" to determine if men in the bar are "officially heterosexual," which sounds extremely homosexual, to be honest.

Anyway, as you might guess, most of the bar's patrons loved the idea.

But many weren't exactly onboard with Old State Saloon's response to LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and trolled the bar pretty heavily.

Don't go getting the idea that the Old State Saloon dislikes LGBTQ+ people, however.

In another post, the bar wrote:

“We hear lots of people are upset about Heterosexual Awesomeness Month! Please know: 1) We love our LGBTQ+ patrons!"
“2) We will not be changing our mind and give into the group of those who are responding with vitriol."
"3) ALL are welcome to come celebrate heterosexuality with us in June!”

You heard 'em, queers. Old State Saloon is officially an LGBTQ+ bar for the month of June! Come in your best drag and/or hot pants, and they'll surely roll out the red carpet for you.
