Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart have been best friends for a long time.

The pair even went to Broadway with a Pinter and a Beckett play just for the fun of it.

And recently they took their friendship to the next level.

On the red carpet for Star Trek: Picard, McKellen approached his friend and was received with a peck on the cheek.

Following that little peck, McKellen immediately got down on one knee and proposed to Stewart.

Sir Patrick immediately accepted Sir Ian's proposal, and then the two shared a full on-the-lips kiss.

Sir Patrick then logged on to share an adorable pic of the two old friends.

Awwwwwww.

Sir Patrick attended the premiere with his wife, Sunny Ozell.

Sir Ian was the officiant of their wedding.

To add to the narrative of the cutest best friends ever, Sir Patrick and Sir Ian also played The Newlywed Game with Buzzfeed in 2014.
