Hershey, Pennsylvania is known as the land of chocolate thanks to the chocolate company's founder, Milton S. Hershey. However, Sunday, the small town added a new accolade to its name after a hockey game broke records.

It was not the game itself that broke records, but rather an annual tradition called the Teddy Bear Toss.

The Teddy Bear Toss is a tradition amongst minor league hockey teams where fans bring stuffed animals to a set game.

After the home team scores their first goal, the fans throw their cuddly toys onto the ice.

The teddy bears and other plush creatures are then donated to charities like the American Cancer Association and Children's Miracle Network.

Sunday's game between the Hershey Bears and the Binghamton Devils set a world record with 34,798 bears of the fluffy variety being donated.

ABC 27 News co-anchor, Ali Lanyon, caught some epic bear-tossing footage.

The hockey team and their hometown have since tweeted numerous images showing off the game's incredible feat.

People from all over are amazed by the fans' generosity.

What an amazing way to celebrate the season of giving during a favorite pastime!
