Highland Park shooting survivor Ashbey Beasley crashed the Nashville press conference after the Covenant School shooting to plead with reporters: 'Aren’t you tired of covering this?'

A woman identified as Ashbey Beasley has become an internet sensation following her impassioned plea for stricter gun control laws in the wake of yet another mass shooting in the United States.

Fox News was covering the press conference following the shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, where a 28-year-old woman armed with two assault-style rifles and a pistol killed six people, including three children.

After officials gave an update on the incident, Beasley, who identified herself as a survivor of a mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois last July, asked the media if they were "tired of covering" such events.

Beasley went on to criticize lawmakers for their inaction on even the most basic gun control measures, noting she had visited 130 lawmakers in Washington D.C. to lobby for change.

You can watch what happened in the video below.

Beasley said:

“I am on vacation with my son visiting my sister-in-law. I have been lobbying in D.C. since we survived a mass shooting in July [2022]."
"I have visited with 130 lawmakers... these mass shootings will continue to happen until our lawmakers step up and pass gun safety legislation.”
"Aren't you tired of covering this?"

Fox News anchor John Roberts, responding from the studio, acknowledged Beasley's comments and stated they were indeed "tired" of covering such events.

The footage of her speech went viral on social media platforms, leading to widespread support for her message.

This latest mass shooting is the 13th school shooting in the United States this year.

While lawmakers reached a rare bipartisan agreement on gun control measures last year, including beefing up background checks and incentivizing states to enact "red flag" laws, the National Rifle Association (NRA) opposed the measures and they fell short of the expectations of gun control advocates.

The NRA holds significant sway over the conservative media—including Fox News—which has often railed against gun control measures opposed by the organization.
