Guy Hires 'American Idol' Reject William Hung To Hilariously Put In His Two Weeks' Notice Over Slack

Guy Hires 'American Idol' Reject William Hung To Hilariously Put In His Two Weeks' Notice Over Slack

Quitting, done professionally, is supposed to involve at least two weeks written notice and, depending on the company, a lengthy formal exit process.

Quitting, done awesomely, involves American Idol reject-turned-mega-star William Hung.

TikTok user @joellenlove is dating a guy named Chris. Chris recently found a new job and needed to give his two weeks notice to his old one. Chris is also, clearly, awesome.

Instead of going the usual route of sending an email or leaving a letter on your bosses desk, Chris opted to give management a bit of a show, with the assistance of one of America's favorite Idols.

No, not Kelly Clarkson. Not Jordin Sparks or even the fabulously named Just Sam.

American Idol is famous for more than just the winners, and in Chris's case it was a contestant from the other end of the spectrum who came in for the assist.

He selected none other than William Hung, whose Season 3 rendition of the Ricky Martin song "She Bangs" was so bad - but delivered with so much passion - that the world couldn't help but fall in love.

If you (somehow) managed to miss this culturally defining early 2000s moment, here it is.

Chris hired Hung on Cameo, a platform that lets you hire celebrities to create short clips for you. You could hire someone's favorite celeb to wish them Happy Birthday, or wish a new business a happy grand opening.

Or you could be awesome, like Chris, and hire one to give your 2 week notice for you.

Chris hired Hung to create a Cameo, then shared it (simply saying "@here" about it) in the Slack channel used to communicate with his coworkers. The clip featured Hung giving two week notice of Chris's resignation. It didn't stop there, though.

Hung continued with a positive, uplifting, message for coworkers and then William singing an original song called "Just Do It."

Amazingly, after being ripped to shreds by Simon Cowell and laughed at by much of the world, Hung did actually move on to have a career in music for several years. We don't know what Chris is moving on to in his career, but we know people love his departure announcement.

His girlfriend posted the video to her TikTok:

@joellenlove

and yes that is a William Hung original, not a cover #jobtips #worklife

And when we say people loved we mean they loooooooooved.

Seems like Cameo has a lot of uses some of us never thought of.

Justin Trudeau Shares How He Got Trump To Pivot Away From '51st State' Threat

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had social media users cackling with his latest public statements since President-elect Donald Trump made headlines for jabbing him with remarks about Canadian statehood, noting how he'd gotten Trump to drop the empty threat during a recent conversation.

Trump, who first brought up the idea during a November meeting with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago over Trump's threat to impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, has since inflamed tensions by referring to Trudeau as the governor of the “great state of Canada." He has also discussed the possibility of using "economic force" instead of "military force" to annex the country.
