Things were slow for a few years there for pandemic reasons, but data tells us weddings are back in a big way for 2022. So much do that some outlets are reporting that people are annoyed by them now!

They can be expensive to attend, take all day, and are full of antiquated ritual that can honestly be awkward and triggering.

Take heart - its 2022 and Couples are leaning hard into the "we" part of "wedding" by doing things their way.

Like Chloe Robinson, who took three things people hate at weddings and made them so good people are crying about it.

The first ingredient in this cocktail of awful that somehow becomes awesome is a mother upstanding the bride by wearing all white and a headpiece.

It's one of those things that guaranteed to get you trash talked on the internet, but it's exactly the look Chloe wanted for her mother.

Next we need a little bouquet toss. Those are awkward and can get a little combative. Why are contact sports in formal wear a thing?

Finally we need a surprise proposal in the middle of someone else's wedding.

Yeah.

We know.

Just trust the process.

Because at Chloe's wedding, that trio of terrible became this tearjerking moment:

Chloe and her mothers boyfriend hatched a plan.

Rather than actually toss the bouquet, Chloe would surprise mom by handing her the bouquet at which point her partner would propose.

The plan went off without a hitch! There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

And there isn't one on TikTok either.

And that is pretty much the only way to pull off a surprise proposal at someone else's wedding that upstages the bride and have it not be a social flub for the ages.

Oh, and she said yes!
