We've all endured the sound of a crying baby in a restaurant or on a plane, and while sometimes the occurrence can be irritating in the moment or infringe on our intimate conversations, it happens... that's what babies do.
But you know what's exponentially more annoying than a crying baby? A grown man shouting obscenities over the sound of an upset child.
Sadly, some Southwest Airlines passengers had to endure exactly that before the obnoxious passenger was finally escorted off the plane by police.
Another passenger documented the incident which lasted several minutes.
The video shows the grown man throwing a tantrum and spewing profanity trying to justify his yelling because "so is the baby."
When the plane lands, the man refuses at first to be escorted off the plane, and according to the TikTok by @mjgrabowski, all passengers had to deplane in order for him to comply. Upon entering the airport, the man could still be seen arguing with officers.

People on social media expressed their thoughts on the situation.
Many stated babies crying on planes usually do so because of temporary discomfort and—in most cases—the noise eventually ceases.
“Babies cry. It’s what they do.

Sometimes, they cry on planes.

As someone without children, I keep in mind that I only have to hear this on occasion. Parents have to hear it all the time.

Thus, it’s easy for me to put on my headphones and keep my mouth shut.

Try it!”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
“@cmclymer and often on planes they cry because the changes in air pressure are very painful for little ears...”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
“@taraparkerpope @cmclymer … and they have no way to soothe that pressure like adults do
… and they don’t understand why they hurt.
We traveled a lot. I am in my 50s now & vividly remember being on a flight to Miami when my big brother FINALLY helped me learn how to pop my ears. I think I was four.”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
Of course, several also commented on the inappropriate behavior displayed by the "adult."

“@cmclymer Yelling at no one helps. Either causes fear or escalates a situation.”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
“@cmclymer It’s a baby, a defenseless tiny human & anger over it crying just seems sad. Compassion costs nothing and it’s priceless. Empathy is a gift you give to yourself and others. Kindness shouldn’t be so hard to find, you’d need Waze to locate it.”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
“@cmclymer Gotta love when people with a developed prefrontal cortex can’t regulate their own emotions but expect a baby with an undeveloped one to do so”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
“@cmclymer Babies don't have the advantage of maturity to help them control their emotions, unfortunately, neither do far too many adults.”— Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦 (@Charlotte Clymer 🇺🇦) 1681912131
TMZ reported a rep for Southwest told them:
"We commend our Crew for exhibiting outstanding professionalism while handling a challenging situation, and we offer our apologies to the other Customers onboard who had to experience such unacceptable behavior."
Well done, Southwest.
