The singer found out from a fellow X user that X Æ A-12, her 4-year-old son with Musk, was at a televised press conference at the Oval Office with Trump—and she wasn't happy about it.

Singer Grimes spoke out after learning from a fellow X user that X Æ A-12, her 4-year-old son with billionaire Elon Musk, was at a televised press conference at the Oval Office with President Donald Trump—and she wasn't happy about it.

After X user @sisisimon told the singer—whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher—that her son had been “very polite” and “so cute when he told DJT ’please forgive me, I need to pee,'" at the press conference, a surprised Grimes said:

“He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

Musk, appearing alongside Trump, had earlier defended his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accusations that the federal cost-cutting initiative amounts to a "hostile takeover" of the government.

Musk has gone to great lengths to obscure the operations of DOGE, including his own role in the project. As a "special government employee," Musk's financial disclosure will not be made public, according to the White House.

While DOGE is technically under the oversight of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Musk has wielded near-unchecked power in his sweeping efforts to reshape the federal government. Some of his actions have even reportedly taken the White House by surprise, according to a source familiar with the matter.

All the while as Musk spoke, his 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, whom he and Grimes call “X,” climbed on Musk (at one point sticking his fingers in Musk's ears) and whispered to Trump.

Many were as weirded out by the whole thing as Grimes was.

Others shared their own criticisms.

The relationship between Grimes and Musk lasted from 2018-2022.

They share three children: X Æ A-Xii, 3-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and 2-year-old son Tau Techno Mechanicus. Despite their on-and-off relationship, Grimes called Musk her "best friend and the love of my life" in March 2022.

However, their relationship took a legal turn when Grimes sued Musk over parental rights in a California court. Musk reportedly sought to keep the proceedings private, requesting that the documents be sealed.
